Makeup Revolution Iconic 2: Metallic Eyes…

Makeup Revolution Redemption Iconic 2 Eye Shadow Palette

I’m in love. Sounds a bit over dramatic when it comes to eye shadow, huh?

Of course this past number of weeks I’ve been so wrapped up in pastels & pinks that I’ve almost managed to forget how beautiful a metallic semi-smokey eye really is… and how damn wearable whether it be day, night, summer or winter. Although I’m often intimidated by bold shades of lippy, a dramatic eye never fazes me. In fact, the bolder the better is quite often my motto when it comes to dressing up my lids. So this weekend I waved a dismissive hand to pastels and said hello to mesmerising metallic’s; all thanks to the pocket friendly Makeup Revolution Redemption Iconic 2 palette & it’s array of show-stopping shades…

MUR Redemption Iconic 2

Okay so the title may be a tad grammatically dramatic but it’s certainly in keeping with the pigmentation that’s simmering below the lid. But let’s start at the beginning gals = price. Everyone knows I LOVE a bargain, and what could be better than parting ways with a mere £4 for a medley of twelve cool toned shadows? For just short of fiver, Makeup Revolution have managed to create what I’d consider to be the closest dupe to the Naked 2 I’ve yet to sample. Crazy, huh?

MUR Redemption Iconic 2 palette

DSC02549

DSC02528

In fact, the pigmentation is so good it makes me question if high end offerings are indeed overpriced and over-rated in comparison. Are we unnecessarily paying an arm and a leg just for fancy schmancy packaging? Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE my pricier palettes, but for anyone who hasn’t yet invested in any I’d be pretty quick to recommend the Makeup Revolution as a worthy alternative equivalent.

Makeup Revolution Redemption Iconic 2 Palette Review

Taking a quick peek at the shade selection, it’s a sassy range of cool matte & shimmering metallic tones that will undoubtedly work well with pretty much any complexion. One thing I will say is that the lighter matte shades are slightly disappointing compared to the rest of the colours. The highlighter & base tones pale into insignificance against the mighty pop of the bold metal tones which are even more impressive if you decide to use them with a slightly dampened brush = a semi foiled finish that’s utterly multifaceted *swoon* The colour literally lights up the lid *more swooning* Check out a close up of the scrummy copper coloured look I created this weekend…

Copper and Gold Metalic Eye Makeup Revolution Redemption Iconic 2 Palette

Of course any cosmetic craver will more than likely agree that when you find something so damn fabulous in (almost) every way you can’t help but insist anyone with a pulse NEEDS to have it in their life. But what’s not to love? The pricing, pigmentation & consistency are all clear winners. Okay, so the outer casing is a tad uninspiring but I’d much rather have quality on the inside than pretty packaging containing shadows that pack as much colour punch as self-raising flour *sigh*

.

The finished look…

Smokey Copper Eye Look  DSC02513

So if there’s any pocket friendly treat you’re putting on your ‘pay day me spree’ this month make it the Makeup Revolution Redemption Iconic 2 palette. Your bank account & eyes will love you for it ❤

The Blog Makeover: A Whole New Look for Confetti & Curves…

Confetti & Curves Logo On Background White

I can’t believe it’s been 18 months from I launched Confetti & Curves. As many of you will wholeheartedly sympathise, it’s surprisingly nerve shredding putting yourself out into the big wide blogisphere. Granted I’d had a teeny bit of experience with a previous blog that I dabbled with once or twice a month, but nothing to the extent of what I’m doing now. Over the space of a year and a half I’ve met countless fantastic blog buddies, worked with some fabulous brands, tripled my wish list, set up a YouTube channel, have watched a video boom to almost 400K views (and counting), have been supported daily by so many regular readers, and best of all I’m STILL loving the learning curve of it. Blogging is one of the most exciting creative journeys I’ve been on. I’ve adored every moment of it – yep, even the occasional drizzle of ‘bloggers block’ has been a bizarre and enjoyable challenge. However, when you pour your heart into something you adore so much the testing times become irrelevant very quickly!

Being a proud blog mama though, you know when it’s time for a change. As much as I love my little virtual haven just the way it is, I feel like I’m ready to give it a bit of a make-over… especially as it’s hosted so many makeover’s of my own face!! During the past few weeks I’ve spent some time rolling up my sleeves and getting creative with branding & design. Oddly enough it’s felt like I’ve been redecorating a sacred part of my home. I’ve had mental mood boards and spent many cups of tea deliberating over colour schemes… including all those little accessories that are so important to the finishing touches ( aka = the widgets!!)

FINALLY today is the day I can throw my hands in the air, perform a ritualistic happy dance & declare the transformation complete *excited air punch* The new design feels crisp, clean, minimal, a little chic but still a tad playful – pretty much everything I’ve aimed to encapsulate. Even down to the little widgets on the side wall, everything blends, feels comfy and has a harmonious mood for me… don’t worry I won’t start humming loudly whilst trying to contort myself into one of those pretzel shaped yoga poses!

So for those of you who are used to the old branding & graphics, it’s certainly a little bit different to what it was before but I really hope y’all like the new changes as much as I do.

Thanks so much for an amazing 18 months of support, encouragement & friendship! You guys rock the socks off blogging 😀

Spring Inspired Makeup Menu featuring MAX FACTOR…

Max Factor Spring Inspired Makeup

Although I don’t really consider myself to be a ‘pink’ girl, I always love wearing soft pastel toned make-up. Maybe it’s because I’m easily intimidated by super-bright tones, particularly being so pale! Therefore, it’s no huge shock that a Spring Make-up Menu was on the cards, considering that this time of year never fails to inspire me more than any other when it comes to pairing oh-so-pretty colour combinations. However, what’s even more exciting is that I’m rediscovering my love for one of the best known brands available from drug store counters worldwide… Max Factor.

Throughout my early twenties Max Factor was a staple for me – particularly in the foundation stakes. Clearly over the last few years I’ve been on a whirlwind romance with many other brands; but as a recent ‘me spree’ seemed to result in me investing in some new Max Factor goodies, I couldn’t resist sharing them with y’all in this Spring inspired make-up menu…

.

SMUM 1

Spring Makeup Face Products

Olay 2 in 1 Primer: My go to primer that helps prep my skin prior to whatever foundation I opt for. Never lets me down and helps to keep my make-up from drying out prematurely.

Max Factor Lasting Performance in Pastelle 02:  Having used (and loved) this foundation a number of years ago I’ve no idea why I changed – I’m assuming my colour was out of stock & I moved onto another brand. However after wearing this for an entire day it completely reignited strong memories as to how much I loved this foundation in the past. It completely lives up to its name as it still looked fresh come bedtime… and for those with pinky pale skin this is the ideal tone that doesn’t result in nasty oxidised tones!

L’Oreal Touche Magique: The product itself is great, no complaints about the formula (however) after shelling out almost £10 I was pretty disappointed at how many applications I got from it. Not recommended for everyday use or you’ll soon be spending a small fortune, instead save your pennies and opt for the MUA dupe – it’s every bit as brilliant but at a fraction of the price!

I ❤ Makeup Blushing Hearts in Bursting With Love: Although I’m going through a bit of a phase for cream blush (I usually do at the turn of spring) this is one little box of magic powder that will forever get my vote. A soft pink blush with a soft hint of sheen that gives the impression of a slightly dewy cheek, even though it’s totally powder based.

.

SMUM 2

Spring Makeup Eye Products

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eye Liner in Nude: Having appeared in many of my previous Make-up Menu’s, this soft nude liner is a champion at brightening up tired eyes and making the eye colour appear much more vibrant!

Seventeen Eye Shadow Trio in Enchanted Smoke: I ADORE this little trio from another one of my favourite drug store brands, the deep damson shade was the perfect tone for adding a little bit of definition to the outer corner of my eyes without going over board & it really complimented the Excess Shimmer cream shadow!

Max Factor Excess Shimmer in Pink Opal: I was expecting a much denser consistency than the soft mousse formula, however don’t be led to thinking that this light weight creamy shadow won’t pack a mighty punch. It stayed in place all day without any creasing or wearing, really impressed & will definitely be investing in a few more shades before long!

Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eye Shadow in Pink Opal

Max Factor False Lash Effect in Black: Thanks to my blog buddy Anne over at Doves & Roses who highly recommended this mascara – she seems to know exactly what I love in a great lash formula. Not only does this mascara add length it separates your lashes leaving them looking fluttery, lengthened and separated without any huge clumps. Undoubtedly my go to mascara whatever the occasion!

.

SMUM 3

Max Factor Lipfinity

Max Factor Lipfinity in shade 60 Evermore Lush: This has been my first dip into Max Factors lippy line & I’m impressed. It’s comfortable to wear, long lasting & best of all the compact shape of the bullet is great for smaller lips!

Ps: Pop a little coating of Lip Cote over the top for an even longer lasting finish *Click Here* to check out my review on this nifty lip accessory!

.

SMUM 4

Spring Inspired Makeup

Considering the affordability of Max Factor it really does edge the boundaries of high end cosmetics, not only in longevity but in colour pay off too. After hours of wear (and I wasn’t going lightly on it either ladies) it really held up its end of the bargain as I found myself washing a completely dewy face of make-up come bedtime! Though I’m not at all surprised considering how much this range has impressed me in the past. More to the point, I was really impressed with the eye shadow as cream formulas quite often dry up and become flaky on my lids, this however stayed fresh the entire day. Worth the invest for sure gals, don’t forget to check out some of the other gorgeous colours in the range too!

Spring Cleaning: Essential Spring Skin Care Kit…

Essential Spring Skin Care

There’s no one more happier than me to wave goodbye to the harsh winds of winter, to welcome the sunnier skies of a new season. Spring has always been one of my favourite times of the year, not only due to my love of soft pastel colours and cute garden flowers emerging; it also distinctively feels like a rebirth in many forms. The sparse winter landscape is changing into soft greens & everyone seems to be in a generally chirpier mood.

Of course this is usually the time when I start renewing my skin care regime; out with the old and in with the new! Okay, so I’m no Caroline Hirons when it comes to knowing the in’s and out’s of my lotions and potions, but I do enjoy sampling a variety of really affordable products – and of course making my selection of those that have made the final cut for my Essential Spring Skin Care Kit! Fancing finding out the stars of the show? Then get yourself comfy & let’s get started…

.

SSC1

Body - Spring Skin Care

Treacle Moon, Iced Strawberry Dream: This is one brand I literally can’t stop raving about. Ever since I picked up their Cinnamon shower gel back in November I’ve been hooked.. If you’re a lover of juicy strawberry scents then you’ll adore this yummy bath and shower gel. Not only does it leave your skin feeling and smelling delicious for hours after, your bathroom will smell every bit as delightful too!

Treacle Moon, The Raspberry Kiss: As most of you already know I’m not a huge fan of Shea Butter or Coconut scents – not because I’m adverse to the smell, but mainly because there are soooooo many products out there with that scent that I’ve pretty much sickened myself over the months. However this yummy raspberry scented body cream is beyond words. The smell lingers on your skin for ages and feels super nourishing and hydrating. *happy sigh*

*Click Here* to check out the Treacle Moon website so you can browse their amazing range of cruelty free goodies!

Face - spring skin care

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: Is there anybody out there that hasn’t fallen head over heels for this incredible cleansing water? Few and far between if I’m placing any bets! In fact I’ve literally lost count of the amount of times I’ve raved about it; but then again it is SO worth the praise. Cotton pads and a few drops of this wonder water = VOILA! Fresh skin in an instant. A must have for any skin care kit!

Olay Sensitive Daily Facial In A Box: Consisting of 30 disposable facial cloths, this is great value for money if you’re a fan of cleansing with lathered up soap. These handy little cloth wipes have always managed to leave my skin feeling super clean & baby smooth without leaving it dry or tight. It’s also one of the few soapy cleansers that hasn’t aggravated my roaring red skin, plus it’s wonderful for minimising pores. Well worth the £4 investment for an entire month of hassle free cleansing wouldn’t you say? Most definitely a daily facial in a box!

.

SSC3

Tesco Spring Skin Care

Tesco Refreshing Toner, Night Cream and Cleanser & Eye Makeup Remover: Out of every range I’ve tried this year, this is by far the most surprising. Considering that branded supermarket skin care is often overlooked, compared to branded competition, I’m pretty sure that many are missing out on what this trio of goodies has to offer.

Firstly, lets talk Toner… honestly, I’m not a fan of Toners per-say. Simply because they dry my skin out and leave it feeling in need of a damn good drink. However this particular toner was the first not to leave my skin looking red, patchy & slightly inflamed. Maybe it’s something to do with the cucumber extracts? I’m not entirely sure… but for a super market brand it feels, smells and performs just as great (if not better) than some of the bigger names for triple the price.

As for the night cream (to keep it short and sweet) it’s nourishing whilst not feeling greasy or overly oily. It smells incredible, is highly affordable & suitable for all skin types. Okay so the packaging isn’t smeared with scientific claims and unpronounceable ingredients, but considering it done a fabulous job of keeping my skin moisturised what’s not to like?

Lastly, the star of the show… Tesco Cleanser & Eye Makeup Remover. WOW wow wow wow. This performs like a dream for me. To be truthful it could easily be crowned as my best skincare buy of 2016 so far. YES it’s THAT good! It has been the ONLY cleanser that has been soothing beyond words, gentle on my eyes, doesn’t leave a frosted effect film that makes my sight all blurred for 20 minutes after use (unlike the Nivea Double Effect) and is outstanding at removing all traces of eye makeup… even my hefty layers of Urban Decay that is considerable long wearing. What a product! If you haven’t tried this you absolutely must.

.

SSC4

Spring skin care

Simple Soothing Eye Balm:  Eye Balms are relatively new to me, and I have to admit I’ve been loving this one so much that it has me hooked to explore more. After a long day in front of computers my eyes usually end up tired and puffy. This is the perfect addition to my skin care routine to help tame the tiredness and leave my eyes feeling totally soothed.

Oz Naturals Hyaluronic Acid  Serum: Bizarrely enough, I didn’t actually realise just how beneficial this formula was until I STOPPED using it. If you have skin that is in need of hydration & suffers from dry patches then I’d highly recommend you giving it a go. Read my full review on this product by *Clicking Here*

Pure Cucumber Eye Roll-On: Yet another nifty little tool for taming tired eyes. All I do is simply roll the ball just underneath my eyes for a cool & soothing sensation that brightens up tired eye areas. Bye Bye extra baggage!

.

SSC5

Spring Lip Care

W7 Lip Bomb: As much as I adore my beloved EOS balms, I can honestly say that this is thee most moisturising (and yum tasting) lip treat I could recommend – and believe me I’ve tried ALOT. It’s handy domed shape means your lips easily get a full coating in this nurturing formula that leaves your pout looking just as beautiful as it feels!

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub: Regardless of the season, Lush lip scrubs are always top of my favourites list when it comes to lip care. Not only is it incredibly tasty, it removes all that horrid build up of dry/dead skin, leaving your lips supple, soft and totally kissable!

Battle of the Micellar Waters… Which Works Best?

Micellar Water Review

As much as I quite often adore my nightly cleansing regime, there’s some evenings that (let’s be honest gals) I just can’t be bothered with going overboard with the facial scrubs, or have decided upon a make-up free day and all I want to do is reach for my Micellar Water for a quick freshen up. The great thing about always having a bottle of Micellar Water close to hand is besides the fact that it’s a quick & easy peasy way to cleanse your face, it’s also widely known to be gentle on sensitive skin, a quick way to invigorate your face after a gruelling gym session or just for those lazy days…like the one’s I have much too often!

But which brand is best to buy? With Micellar Waters really taking off in recent months it seems every household name (supermarkets included) are jumping head first onto the cleansing water bandwagon. So with that in mind my mission began as I scoured the skin care shelves of my local stores to see what was on offer that was both affordable and easily picked up should I need a top up.

If truth be told, I wasn’t actually expecting much of a difference, after all how diverse could bottles of water really be? Surely they’d all be much of a muchness, right? Wrong. Comparing costs, with overall results I was pretty surprised by some of my findings. So if you’re on the hunt for a stash of Micellar Water then get yourself comfy and keep reading as I attempt to uncover which works best…

Brand:  Boots Botanics All Bright Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Lotion

Boots Botanics Micellar Water

Description:  “This cleansing solution feels as gentle as water on the skin, to dissolve make up, unclog pores and remove impurities. Skin feels toned and smooth in one easy step. No rinsing required for use on the face, eyes and lips.

Hibiscus is nature’s brightness booster and a wonderful hue of pink. Natural AHA’s from the flower act as mild exfoliators to help leave skin smoother and brighter.

Our beauty scientists have worked with the world experts in plant science at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (England), to bring you beautiful, plant powered skin care that’s proven to work.”

 (Source: Boots Website)

Size of bottle:  250ml

RRP:   £4.49

Pros & Cons:  Initially it was the pretty packaging that initially caught my eye. I love the clear bottle very subtly detailed with pictures of flowers, embracing that it’s been created alongside Kew Royal Botanical Gardens. This felt incredibly fresh on my skin and left no obvious signs of agitation whatsoever. It also done a wonderful job of removing my make-up quick and easily, without any residue.

Just be careful when opening, the bottle neck is quite open so a much higher chance of spillage!

Works Best For: Dull skin that needs a little bit of cheering up.

Brand:   Nivea Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Water

Nivea Micellar Water

Description:  “It helps protect against the 3 main signs of sensitive skin when used together with a NIVEA® Sensitive care product:

1) Redness

Moisturises and refreshes the skin

Is free of parabens, colours and perfume”

(Source: Boots Website)

Size of bottle:  200ml

RRP:   £3.69

Pros & Cons:  I’ve been a huge fan of Nivea for quite some time now, and have to say they’ve rarely disappointed in quality and affordability. Their Micellar water worked a treat for me, removing my make-up quickly and effortless ease. My skin felt always felt really refreshed and smooth after cleansing. Overall a great water and well worth trying out!

Works Best For: Those with normal/dry skin, however can feel a little tightening on super-sensitive skin

Works Best For: Possibly those who wear very little/no makeup.

Pros & Cons:  As much as I hate to admit it, I’m really struggling to find positive feedback on this product. Firstly the packaging just doesn’t cut it for me. Compared to other products it looks outdated, bland and suspiciously like a bottle of nail varnish remover.  As for the formula it really wasn’t much better as it felt oily, greasy and had a hint of perfume (which I assume is the chemical ingredients) even though it claims to be fragrance free. Not great at removing eye make-up either though it did an okay job at removing foundation. Sorry Superdrug, back to the drawing board with this one!

RRP:  £4.49

Link to Purchase:  http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Time-Delay-Daily-Cleansing-Micellar-Cleansing-Water-200ml_1440680/

Works Best For: The brand seems directed at a more mature customer base, with it’s elegant packaging and classic typography. Best suited to those with combination skin that don’t wear heavy eye make-up or lashing of waterproof mascara.

Pros & Cons:  Lovely packaging, adore the clear bottle – always gives an obvious indication of how much is left before hitting empty. Seemingly marketed for the slightly more ‘mature’ customer, however great for skin of any age in my opinion. Done a reasonably decent job of removing make-up, though struggled a little with mascara and darker coloured shadows. Also noticed that my skin felt a little tighter than usual after using.

It actively works to attract make-up and impurities whilst unclogging pores and allowing your skin to breath.

Our Micellar Cleansing Water won’t leave skin feeling tight, but amazingly clean, refreshed and hydrated.

Designed for sensitive skin but loved by all skin types.”

Size of bottle:  200ml

RRP:   £4.49

Works Best For: Anyone with sensitive skin or prone to occasional breakouts.

Pros & Cons:  This seems a great brand for younger or troublesome skin – in fact my 10 year old daughter loves using this regularly as she has incredibly sensitive skin that flares up with most face soaps, yet Simple’s skin care range has never given her anything to grumble about. However for me (with non trouble-some pores) oddly enough I didn’t take to this as well as some of the others. Don’t get me wrong it done a great job at removing make-up effectively however there always felt like a slight residue on my face afterwards. Otherwise it was great to use, and I’d certainly recommend it to those looking a nifty cleanser for highly sensitive skin!

Brand:  Asda The Skin System Micellar Water

Asda Skin System Micellar Water

Description:  “Deeply cleanse dry and sensitive skin with Asda Skin Systems’ Micellar Cleansing Water. With added Chamomile Extract to gently and effectively cleanse without leaving skin feeling dry or tight. This mild and caring formula is specially formulated with Aloe Vera, Pro Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E to help nourish and care for skin. Hypoallergenic and Dermatologically Tested. Can be used on all skin types.”

(Source: Asda Website)

Size of bottle:  200ml

RRP:  £1.50

Link to Purchase:  http://groceries.asda.com/product/facial-cleansing/asda-the-skin-system-micellar-cleansing-water/910002014376

Works Best For: Hmm, tough skin that’s pretty resilient to sensitivity (?) Hard to recommend this brand as it was quite harsh after multiple uses.

Pros & Cons:  Didn’t like this at all gals. Firstly, another bottle that looks almost twinned with my Tesco nail varnish remover. Formula seems harsh and very ineffective at removing both my mascara and full coverage foundation, ended up using it as a second stage cleanser after washing my face with Olay facial scrub. Almost always left my skin feeling tight & sensitive in patches.Would probably be better used as a cleanser if just wearing BB cream or something a little lighter, such as nothing at all!

Brand:  Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Garnier Micellar Water

Description: “A super efficient and gentle way to cleanse, remove makeup, soothe the feel of skin and hydrate in just one step – it’s not magic, it’s Garnier Micellar!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water contains micelles which act like magnets, gently lifting away makeup and impurities from the skin, without the need to rub or rinse. The result?

Beautifully cleansed and refreshed feeling skin in an instant. The formula is suitable for the face, eye area and lips, has no perfume and comes in a generous 400ml size.”

(Source: Boots Website)

Size of bottle:  400ml

RRP: £4.99

Link to Purchase:  http://www.boots.com/en/Garnier-Micellar-Cleansing-Water-400ml_1440752/

Works Best For: Pretty much everyone and anyone! Great on a multitude of skin types however if you’re prone to breakouts or have super sensitive skin opt for the Green Bottle version as it’s targeted for use with those issues.

Pros & Cons:  I absolutely LOVE the Garnier Cleansing water. It’s such good value at a huge 400ml bottle for under a £5, however be sure to look around as often either Tesco, Superdrug or Boots will have it on offer. They also have a tiny travel bottle size which is ideal for popping into your gym or travel bag! This water does an outstanding job of removing all types of make-up & daily general build up, leaving skin feeling totally refreshed without any tightness, dryness or typical sensitivity reaction. Such great value & love the pretty packaging too. No cons for this clear winner. Woo hoo!

Behind The Blog featuring Hannah Jayne

Hannah Jayne Blog

Hey Beauty Buddies…

For the first time in years I woke up yesterday morning to a thick blanket of fluffy white snow. Of course living by the sea, it’s not often we get a dose of the white stuff but it was such a pretty scene… like Christmas only two months too late. Yes, I admit ladies it was hard staving off the desire to play my Michael Buble Christmas Album *sigh* However this unexpected bout of wintery weather resulted in digging out the chunky knits (yet again) that were almost packed away for the season in the hope that warmer days were ahead. Not quite ready for the flip flops just yet it would seem *sobs* Naturally, being Irish, I’m accustomed to wet days but snow just tends to grind us lot to a halt. We end up in a wild panic, demanding the councils ‘do something about it’ and closing all sorts of services left, right & centre. Needless to say it’s now fully thawed out & we can all breathe a heavy sigh of relief… well, at the very least my sister can as she refuses to drive anywhere in it! Though none of us share the enthusiasm of Emma who was out making snow angels at 6:30 am in waterproofs & wellie boots *rolls eyes*

Oh, before I forget, a HUGE thank you to everyone who checked out yesterday’s video Broken Nails, Split Ends & 30 Day Mascara: A Random Beauty Haul. It would seem quite of few of you are intrigued by the 30 day mascara. Fear not, as it’s top of my review list by popular demand – I shall endeavour to keep my brokens nail crossed it’s not as terrifying as I imagine! Talking of which, thanks also for the great tips and feedback on making my nails that little bit more resilient. Between hand & nail cream, coconut oil, cuticle treatments & Vitamins I’m pretty sure I’ll have the strongest nails in Ireland before the month is over 😀

However enough waffling from me as we welcome our second blogger of the week onto the virtual sofa, as the lovely Hannah from Hannah Jayne joins us for a quick chatter about behind the scenes of her blossoming beauty and lifestyle blog! Hannah’s online haven is certainly bright and cheery on the eyes from the moment you land on her home page, as she treats us all to a wealth of inspiring & creative features! There’s definitely something for everyone so do pop over and say a huge hello to this lovely gal, I’m pretty sure you’ll love reading her blog as much as the rest of us do…

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

Motivation, Tips, Organization, Fitness, Beauty.

.

What inspired you to start blogging?
I have always really enjoyed writing and giving tips and advice to friends. So I combined these two interests, and at the end of my formula… a blog appeared!

.

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

Well I will admit I spent ever too long chasing after the PERFECT blog name! I soon came to the realization that my blog is about me, my opinions, my tips, and my life. So, what better name than my own?

.

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

Yes!!! Oh my! It is one of the worst feelings! If I have Blogger’s Block, I prefer to just leave it. I know that if I came up with a little idea that I am not 100% keen on during Blogger’s Block, then I will later regret my post! Instead, I will leave my desk, or wherever I am, do something I enjoy, and later on I will most likely come up with something. However, I will note that I tend to carry a note book around with my everywhere so that if a good idea occurs, I can write in my book and not forget it! Because of that, I quite often pre write a post which is handy when you don’t know what to write about!

.

What’s your favourite post to date?

Hmm… Well I really liked my “Perfect Breakfast Smoothie” post!!

.

Describe your everyday clothes style:

Hmm… A cute top with some jeans or denim shorts (or black shorts). But I also love wearing dresses! Casual, yet on fleek 24/7 😉

.

What are your current top 3 beauty items?

Not in order…

‘Blistex Lip Conditioner’ Lip Balm >> this is my saviour!!

‘Rimmel Scandle Eyes Mascara’

‘Rimmel Lasting Finish (25 hr) Liquid Foundation’

.

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

Watch childhood movie favourites (ie. The Wizard of Oz, Barbie as Rapunzel, Barbie as the princess and the Pauper). Meditate- however I find this hard to do sometimes. Or take a nice warm bath with candles lit, and oils burning. Depending on my mood, I will like to be by myself, or surround myself with family.

.

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

A toasted sandwich with extra capsicum, lying in bed with a glass of lemonade, watching t.v! OR, I LOVE going out to dinner with the family!

.

What do you do to relax?

Read a book, lay in bed and talk to mum, listen to some calm songs, have a warm bath.

.

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

Picking off my nail polish! It is so bad! You know how long it takes to apply a base coat, two layers of your chosen colour, and then a top coat and of course you then have to wait for every coat to dry! A day or two after, I would already be pulling the nail polish off. I don’t even know what I achieve from it?! I just do it! Does anybody else do this?!

.

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

Being the sentimental person I am, I have so many! But one that it is quite important to me is when I did crafts with my brother at my grandparents’ farm. My dad didn’t usually come to the farm with us due to his work and the long hours it takes to get to my grandparents. So, after dinner, my brother and I would always make my dad a present- whether it be a card, a pen holder made out of a toilet roll, whatever.

.

What was your favourite school subject?

I definitely enjoy outdoor education as I have been able to experience such things that I never thought I would have been able to do. For example, I have been abseiling over sea cliffs. Big ones too! I don’t mind Italian and Human Biology either. It is such an amazing thing to learn another language! And human bio CAN BE very interesting- notice the capitals. And I suppose in year 8 & 10 I had a big passion for art!

.

What’s your dream job?

I don’t really have one. Last year I was really interested in being a psychologist/counsellor or an outdoor education teacher. But I don’t know any more. I would really enjoy being a personal trainer- but, I know the pay isn’t too good.

.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

No idea man…

.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

Not in order…

1) Write & publish a book
2) Take a picture of lighting (However, I kid you not, I did this just the other day!!!)
3) Bungee Jumping
4) Travel to Italy
5) White Water Rafting

.

What’s your biggest achievement to date?
Can I say when I met Lady Gaga? Is that an achievement?

.

Who inspires you?

This is going to sound super cheesy, but honestly… my parents. They are the two most amazing people I know, and I love them to death. But I would also like to say my beautiful best friend Mikaela. She has been there for me right from year 8, and I just cannot express how much she has grown up and become such an incredible, strong, and talented young lady!

.

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

dr-seuss

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

1) Write what you want to write! Don’t write whatever you think will give you the most views. Write from your heart. If you enjoy what you are writing, your readers will enjoy reading it.
2) Have fun! There are no limits when it comes to blogging! Be you! Have a laugh! Don’t stress!

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

All things beauty & fashion related

.

What inspired you to start blogging?

It was a pretty spur of the moment decision. I have always loved reading other peoples blogs and honestly never really thought anyone would be interested in reading anything I wrote. I don’t know what made me start but as soon as I did I was hooked and know I can’t see myself not doing it.

.

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

I recently changed my blog name, it’s not very exciting just my name and what I love most which is ‘beauty’. I’ve always really liked my name so why not put it to good use 🙂

.

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

Yes all the time. I think the best way to overcome this is to keep a list of new ideas, no matter what time of the day or where I am if something pops into my head I make a note of it on my phone and then when I comes to writing a post if I need ideas I just check my list to get inspiration.

.

What’s your favourite post to date?

I really enjoyed doing the review of the Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette, it was probably the most excited I’ve been to write a post and take the photos but I really do enjoy writing all of my blog posts 🙂

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

Watching TV is my favourite thing to do but theres also nothing better than reading a good book 🙂

.

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

Pretty much just what I said above, sitting in my PJs watching TV and eating lots of junk food 🙂

.

What do you do to relax?

If I say watch TV again does that make me addicted to TV 🙂

.

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

Beauty related would definitely not cleaning my make up brushes often enough

.

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

Going to Lapland to see Santa when I was 8. It was honestly the most magical day and even though I’m 21 now I’d love to go back 🙂

.

What was your favourite school subject?

I always loved accounting, I think my slightly ocd brain appreciated when everything balanced

.

What’s your dream job?

I honestly don’t know, if I can find something that makes me excited to go into work everyday that’s all I can ask for

.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I would love to have my own apartment and ideally it would be in London but mainly I would like to have a good job that I’m happy in (a nice man wouldn’t hurt either 🙂 )

.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

Dive with Sharks

SkyDive

Go on Safari

Travel around the US

See the northern lights

.

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

Getting into the college I wanted was something I worked really hard for and was so excited when it all paid off but I’m also really proud of myself for having the courage to start my blog! I never would have thought this time last year that I would have enjoyed blogging this much but I am really proud of what I’ve produced so far

.

Who inspires you?

Other bloggers, nothing inspires me to improve my blog more than reading other peoples amazing blogs, seeing how talented others are at writing and photography is definitely what inspires me to continue with my blog

.

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

The only piece of advice I would give is to make your blog what you want it to be! Write about what you want to write about and write it in whatever way you want. If you don’t do it for you you won’t enjoy it, and if you don’t enjoy it I don’t think people enjoy reading it as much. I definitely think it translates into peoples blogs when they really enjoy what they do.

.
