Hey Beauty Buddies…
And so yet again you’s have made my day with another dose of fantastic support on yesterday’s post Contacting PR Companies! Like I’d mentioned previously, it’s a bit of a sensitive subject to write about as some bloggers have some seriously varied views on the topic, but low & behold many of you were superbly grateful for the feature & I’m beyond delighted it was received in the best possible way… as merely a smidgen of encouragement & guidance for those amongst us who are indeed ready to take on the blogisphere one PR at a time 😀
Talking of blogispheres, it’s that time of the week once again where I prep the virtual sofa for yet another blog buddy as I have the lovely Catherine from Colour Me Beautiful joining me today for a quick peak behind the scenes of her budding beauty & lifestyle blog.
Just as the name suggests, Catherine’s blog sprinkles our news-feeds with a splash of colourful posts as she features some of her favourite products, beauty chatter and in-depth reviews. Of course being Irish (and a cat lover) I’m naturally biased to singing her praises, but for those who haven’t checked it out already then do get yourself over pronto! She’s such a lovely gal who’s warmth spills naturally into her blogging.
So without further ado, it’s time to grab your cuppa and chillax for five as we take a peek Behind The Blog...
In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:
beauty, honesty, girly, informative, personality
.
What inspired you to start blogging?
I’ve always loved trying new beauty products and telling my friends or family about them and then one evening on a night out a girl I worked with told me i should start blogging so here I am.
.
Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?
God, I was trying to come up with a name for weeks before I actually made a blog, I couldn’t decide on a name I liked at all, pretty sure I had my family and boyfriends head wrecked.. I was looking up other bloggers advice for picking a name and someone wrote that you should think of how whatever your blogging about makes you feel, so I brainstormed how makeup and all that stuff made me feel.. and somehow just came up with Colour Me Beautiful, soon as I said it out loud and I loved it.
.
Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?
I haven’t come across this yet as I’m only blogging a few weeks but I’m dreading this happening. I think whenever it happens I’ll have to go on a makeup shopping spree and do a blogging haul haha.
.
What’s your favourite post to date?
My favourite post so far has to be the L’Oreal Infallible 24h-Matte Foundation Review, I love this foundation so much I couldn’t wait to blog about it. https://colourmebeautiful.wordpress.com/2016/02/29/first-impression-loreal-infallible-24h-matte-foundation/
.
Describe your everyday clothes style:
Whenever I’m not in my PJ’s (which isn’t very often) I tend to keep it comfy with leggins and over-sized jumpers andeither converse or boots, depending on the weather.
.
What are your current top 3 beauty items?
I’m loving the Rimmel London 1000 Kisses Lipliner in Capuccino, Bio Oil (for my face after using a mask), and the Clinique pore refining solutions charcoal mask.
.
How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?
I’m a big fan of my trampoline, even though I’m nearly 22, its such a good way to relieve stress.. Nothing better than putting in my earphones bouncing away the stress 🙂
.
Describe your ideal Saturday night:
I feel so old saying this but my ideal Saturday night would be a few drinks in a pub with a good band or lying in front of the fire curled up with himself with a good horror.
.
What do you do to relax?
I will either go for a looooong shower or head for a walk.
.
Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?
I’m extremely un-tidy…pretty sure there’s clothes I wore at Christmas still lying on my bedroom floor.
.
What’s your most cherished childhood memory?
I think the days during the summer holidays when me, my brothers and my cousins use to head to our grannies and spend the entire day playing out in their fields as they had a big farm.
.
What was your favourite school subject?
It was definitely Art, it was the only subject I had an interest in doing and seemed to be able to do it well.
.
What’s your dream job?
Hopefully in a few months I’ll be a qualified nail technician, so that and a makeup artist would be incredible.
.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Fingers crossed I’ll be qualified in both nails and makeup and either travelling the world or possibly living in America for awhile.
.
What top 5 things are on your bucket list?
Get some more tattoos
Travel around America
Go on a safari in Africa
Open my own nail bar or training place
Grow my hair long
.
What’s your biggest achievement to date?
Definitely has to be learning to deal with my Anxiety, literally never thought I would be able to get my life back on track so I’m very proud of myself for that.
.
Who inspires you?
Vanessa Hudgens… Love that girl
.
Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?
Imperfection is beauty. Madness is genius. It’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring – Marilyn Monroe
.
What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?
Just go ahead and make your blog, blog about things that interest and matter to you. Don’t be worried about people poking fun or making comments about your blog and don’t give up on it either. If your passionate and try your hardest it will all pay off eventually.
