Face Of The Day…

Face Of The Day Confetti and Curves

Hey Beauty Buddies…

Something dawned on me yesterday morning as I was preparing to rummage through my make-up bag… I haven’t tackled a FOTD post! *gasp* So being less than an arms-length away from my trusty camera I thought it would be fun to run you through one of my daily make-up looks.

After cleansing and moisturising I start of by prepping my tired and grey complexion with the Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer. My go to foundation is Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 HR Foundation (to read my recent review *click here*) followed by a dab of the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer over any patchy or red areas. Lastly, I add a tiny amount of the Urban Decay Primer Potion to ensure my eyeshadow will last as long as possible without any creasing or fading. If you haven’t tried this primer you must – it’s beyond amazing and will last a lifetime!

Considering I’m a shadow obsessive, my eyes always take the longest in my routine – everything else just seems so quick to apply in comparison. Today I’m using one of my favourite palettes Urban Decay NAKED, followed by MUA liquid liner and two coats of Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara.

As most of you know I’m paler than pale so to avoid looking like an extra from Twilight it’s essential I wash over my cheeks with a skimming of bronzer. Recently I’ve been using the MUA bronzer, which I has undoubtedly been one of my most used purchases this year. To apply I always reach for my Real Techniques Cheek Brush from the Nic’s Picks set. It’s by FAR the best brush I’ve ever used for evening applying powder. It controls the product so nicely, feels incredibly soft on the skin and puts everything right where you want it: on your face in an orderly manner!

Lastly it’s time to add a little pout with a small coating of MUA Bare (shade 14) I’ve really grown to adore this shade, however it took me a little while getting used to going so light. Usually I’ll add a base of Revlon Crème Gloss in Wine Anytime before applying, just to add a little extra note of pink!

 Face Of The Day

Finally… Taa Daa

And there we have it, a fresh face ready to tackle the rest of the day ahead thank to a multitude of my favourite make-up must haves.

Hope you all had a great weekend! As always thanks for reading and don’t forget to say a quick hello in the comments below… see you all tomorrow with an exciting Behind The Blog post! *Yaaay*

    • Thanks so much Chanelle – the effects of an early night and a decent concealer haha! I’m really warming to the lip colour as at first I didn’t like it on me – seemed a bit wishy washy! So chuffed you like it, thanks for stopping by huni 🙂 Xo

  2. You look so beautiful Karen!! I love this makeup look! You look so bright and radiant 🙂 I am so glad to see you do a Face of the Day post. I love these posts, they’re one of my favorites! How do you like that Rimmel Primer? I use the same concealer and for my foundation lately I have been using Rimmel Perfect Match. My Benefit Porefessional sample will run out soon and I’m not sure if I want to spend the money on a full-size one or try a different one. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I hope you’re having a great day!! ❤ Xoxo

    • Hey chum!!!! Awwwh thank you SO much Katie, you always say such incredibly lovely things that never fail to make me either smile or blush lol So glad you enjoyed the post 🙂 Well considering it’s one of the first primers I’ve used I’ve not to much to compare it against! I’d suggest giving it a go – I personally really like it but (thankfully) my skin/pores aren’t too troublesome so it works a treat for keeping my foundation in place 😀 How are you getting on with the Rimmel Perfect Match? Do you like it huni? Xo xo

      • Hi there Karen! You’re so welcome! I just love seeing face of the day or makeup of the day posts. 🙂 I have tried a lot of primers it seems and I just am not a big fan of the clear silicone type of stuff. I like the consistency of the Benefit Porefessional. I really have been liking the Rimmel Perfect Match. The lightest shade has somewhat of a yellow tone to it but that usually seems to work fine for me. I also really like my L’Oreal True Match too. I wear a warm shade in that one as well. Well the lightest warm shade lol. I am still exploring other foundations. I’d love to try the Urban Decay Naked Skin sometime though that one is more costly lol. I don’t really have a problem with my pores or anything either. I just like how the foundation works with the primer and helps it to stay on. I do know that I don’t like the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer but I like the Stay Matte Powder lol. There are so many foundations and primers out there to try! 🙂 Xoxo

      • I think this is where I fall short Katie as like you said there are sooooooo many out there to choose from, I think it’ll take me to compare to another couple before I can work out if it’s good or bad!! lol I still have my tester of Benefit’s Porefessional to try and I have a suspicion I’m going to fall over heels for it and want it so bad!! The price is just a little OTT for me to use on a daily basis 😦 *grrrr* However shall keep you posted if I do use any others…. I’m still to try the Matte powder but I’m reading awesome things about it!!! 😉 Yes, I’m a fan of the FOTD posts too – love having a look at what others are using and how they look on the skin!! hehe 😀 XXX

      • Yes I think you will definitely fall the Benefit’s Porefessional. I know I have but I don’t think I can spend the money on it. It is quite pricey. I am up for trying other much cheaper alternatives lol. I hope that you’re having a great week so far!! 😀 XXX

      • It is truly an amazing palette! Absolutely right. Once when I applied the shadow, I don’t even know how, but it managed to get in my eye. Well, at least I have another eye 👀 😀 you do a great job applying. When I apply shadow or even foundation, it looks like a hot mess (sometimes I forget to blend it in looking like a two face) but great post as usual wonderful Karen xoxo 💜

      • lol lol – Oh dear… well at least you had a fabulous looking eyeball haha 😀 Noooo your makeup in all your pics looks beautiful huni, you’re far too harsh on yourself *tut tut* Blending is always one of those things I have to keep an eye on – especially concealer *rolls eyes* Thank you again for being such a wee gem & incredibly supportive of my posts *huge hugs* chum ❤ XXXXX

      • I have the Naked 2 but having seen some of the looks and shades in the original – well I just need that too!!
Any time ❤ I always love your posts! xx

      • Ooooh I’d love to get my hands on the Naked 2… it looks incredible! My only gripe about the Naked palette is the packaging – not a fan of the felt case, but apart from that it’s beaut! Thank you so much, love your post too huni 🙂 X

      • You should definitely try the naked 2 then – the metal tin is definitely the best. Especially for travel – I never worry that something’s going to happen to it. I guess the shades themselves out-way the packaging though :p x

      • I love the metal tin – such a difference between my Naked 3 & the original in packaging! Very true, the sturdiness plays a huge part too… but you’re right – the shades make up for it at the end of the day 😉 Xo

      • Exactly! If you had to choose between your original naked and the naked 3 which would you go for? I think I’m leaning towards the original. Think I’m going to treat myself at the end of the month (: xx

        Liked by 1 person

      • If you’d have asked me a month ago Becca I’d have said NAKED 3 however this month I’ve consistently used the original and I honestly think I’m preferring it – the shades are beautiful and go with anything! Yep, I’d definitely say the original!!! 😀 Ooh, go on – you deserve it!! ❤ X

      • I think I need to get the original! Hahah. I was worried the shades would be too bronzy for my fair skin but I think it’s such a beautiful palette! X
