 Rimmel Lasting Foundation Review

Product:

Rimmel’s Lasting Finish 25Hr Foundation with Comfort Serum

My local Superdrug store for £7.99

Manufacturer Description/Unique selling points:

Instant perfect coverage that feels extra comfortable and lasts all day

– Blends flawlessly, seamlessly, instantly and easily into the skin

Packaging:

Honestly ladies I’ve no gripes whatsoever with the packaging, then again I find almost all of Rimmels products well presented and aimed appropriately at their target market and always easy enough to spot on the manufactures stand. It’s a robust glass bottle with a great pump dispenser (which in my opinion) is right up there with a few of high-end rivals – most importantly, it extracts all the product, minus a few dredges on the bottle walls.

Keep it stored upright rather than lying at an angle in the bottom of your make-up bag and you’ll have no issues with product wastage.

Pros:

Okay I admit, I have a teeny confession to make… I’ve actually been using this foundation for the last 2/3 years (yes, it’s THAT good!) So I’m already a whopping fan of Rimmel Lasting Performance. Having tried and tested a range of drugstore & high end foundations, Rimmel is BY far my go to for affordable & great looking make-up.

The product is really well presented, covers blemishes smoothly, doesn’t dry up,  lasts for ages (wearing this everyday I repurchase every 7/8 weeks) and most importantly it does what it says on the tin bottle.

As I usually apply my make-up every morning around 7am, it’s got to last the duration. Come midnight Rimmel Lasting Performance really is still as flawless as when it first glided on… however I do use a moisturiser and a basic Rimmel primer which does help give it a beautiful dewy finish throughout.

The product is considerably easy to remove so you’re not left scrubbing your face raw at the end of the night… I personally switch between Micellar water and facial scrub/toner, and both work perfectly.

Considering I’ve pretty sensitive skin *groan* I haven’t had any issues or breakouts of undesirable skin reactions at all, which is surprising for a product with such extensive coverage. The foundation is pretty buildable however I would say if you’re used with lighter make-up this may feel a little heavy in comparison.

Cons:

Understandably some of us aren’t huge fans of glass bottles, I’m not either if truth be told. Having said that the pump action dispenser really does make light work of an valuable product lurking in the bottom… unlike some bottled foundations I’ve tried in the past.

The shade range could be a little more extensive for darker skin tones judging by what I’ve seen on the shelves, however having the typical pale Irish complexion it’s not in any way an issue for us gals with a paler skin tones. However for those of you blessed with a little more colour than I have, my advice would be to check out the Rimmel website to see what shades are available on-line so you aren’t missing out!

Ultimately, it’s a hard task finding major cons for this flawless foundation.

Re-purchase/Recommend?

Considering I’ve re-purchased Rimmel Lasting Foundation for the last few years pretty much speaks for itself. I’d recommend this product time & time again – it’s superb value for money.

Verdict:

If you’re searching for a full-coverage foundation that’s easy on the pocket and lasts the duration then look no further beauty buddies. There’s nothing I don’t love about this product & after almost 14 hours wear here’s the pic to prove it…

Overall I’m giving this foundation an impressive 10/10 *woo hoo* I genuinely cannot find fault. Well done Rimmel, you’ve created a long lasting winner!
