Why I’m Going Self Employed As A Nail Technician…

Howdy Chums,

After posting last Friday’s feature “GIVEAWAY: Help Me Name My Nail Business” quite a few of blog buddies and regular readers got in contact to wish me well (thanks so much!!) but also to ask a some questions about my venture into self-employment. Of course the best way for me to tackle questions that need a little more explaining is by hosting a quick chatter – kind of like a life update on this particular topic – which is exactly what I’m doing today!

For those of you eagerly following my mini YouTube series of ‘What’s In My Makeup Drawers‘ I’ll be back on track next week with Part 3 as planned. It just seemed better to address all the questions I’ve been asked in light of things recently than leaving it a few weeks down the line.

Soooooo….. once again a HUGE thank you to everyone who’s wished me well, been super encouraging, supportive and shown such a keen interest in keeping up with my journey. If there’s any other questions I can answer or anything you’d like to know then by all means leave me a comment down below or you can drop me an email and I’ll do my best to get back to y’all pronto!

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Friday’s post as I’ll be announcing the winner of last weeks Giveaway along with the name of my new nail business *woo hoo*

Is It That Time Already?! Monthly Favourites….

Is it really June already?! Could someone puhhhlease pinch me, just in case I’ve been sleeping through a good quarter of 2016? I’m still finding rolls of Christmas paper stuffed behind the back of cabinets… surely to goodness it’s not possible? However what’s even more bewildering is that I’ve managed to keep track of yet another month’s worth of accoutrements that I’ve been using on an (almost) daily basis… and trust me, that’s no easy feat these days considering that I’d forget my head if it wasn’t already attached.

Needless to say I apologise PROFOUNDLY for the super shiny face and partially frizzy hair… I left filming until after I’d came back from a hot & sticky afternoon in the sun, so as you can imagine I was already considerably wilted and suffering from the Irish sun stroke epidemic, which usually results in a bright red face and hair that’s slowly turning into the consistency of cotton wool. Awk sure it’s only a video for the world to see, right?! *dramatic eye roll* Next time I’ll be sure to film BEFORE I decided to bake myself in the sweltering afternoon sun, maybe that way you’ll visible appreciate the benefits of any make-up I’m wearing! *sigh*

So for those of you brave enough to push play, get yourself comfy as I take a few moment to chatter about my monthly favourites!

Ps: Recommendations for industrial strength make-up setting spray welcomed 😀

Product Fails…

Having spent the last number of months hoarding a stash of beauty bits n bobs in my empties basket it’s finally time to raid the contents and pass on my most constructive of criticisms. As much as I’d love to revel in awesome beauty goodies all of the time, occasionally a few bloopers slips into the net… and that’s exactly what today’s YouTube chatter is focusing on; the odds and sods that just haven’t impressed me or could be made so much better with just a little tweeking. Oddly enough I used to dread giving negative feedback but I quickly came to my senses in recognising that without the constructive criticism of others brands wouldn’t be able to develop products into things that we love rather than end up loathing. However it’s time to settle your petals for ten minutes as I bring you my latest disappointing products stash.

World Meet Boris: A Fluffy Kitten’s YouTube Debut…

I’ve been inundated with the loveliest of comments & emails about our new little addition to the clan, Boris the Maine Coon kitty, as many of the Confetti & Curves regular blog buddies fell head over heels with the recent piccies of this cheeky little chap featured in last Mondays post – A New Arrival.

As so many of you eager kitty fans have asked for some more piccies & an update, what better way to meet him than a fun video showcasing his daily mischief around the house. It may not be the usual beauty chatter but who can resist a few minutes of fluffy kitten footage?! You’ll also spot our other adorable fella, Gomez, the handsome Tuxedo cat.

So if you’re a crazy cat fanatic (like moi) and fancy a few minutes of itty-bitty cuteness to brighten up your day, then pour a cuppa and get comfy. Normal beauty chatter commences next week gals, enjoy 🙂

Disclaimer: Pressing play may result in overwhelming kitten broodiness!

HUUUUGE Ebay Nail Art Kit for Under £12…

As much as I adore a good spending spree, internet shopping has never really overly excited me. The fact that I can’t see, smell, touch or swatch the items is the first draw back and to make matters worse I have to painstakingly wait on my goodies arriving. It’s torturous to someone who (like me) suffers from ‘Ooooh but I reeeeeally want it now’ syndrome. However after browsing the virtual shelves of Ebay I relented and ordered what I considered to be one heck of a nail art kit… with literally everything a nail lover could wish for all for under £12… INC FREE POSTAGE!!! How do they do it?!

If I’m honest, curiosity got the better of me, but for such a teeny price tag I couldn’t help but fumble around for my credit card and hit the ‘Buy Now’ button. Assuming I’d have a 12 year wait, I didn’t hold up much hope that I’d be seeing it any time soon, however the postman squashed every ounce of pessimism I had when the knock came on my door a mere 4 days later. I’m sure even the neighbours heard the sound of my jaw hitting the floor!

But was the £12 really worth it for what seemed like an endless box of sparkly nail supplies? Well, that’s exactly the purpose of today’s upload, to show you guys everything that arrived on my doorstep for £11.99. I’ve also included the link in the YouTube description box so you can check it out for yourself!

My Everyday Makeup…

Regardless of whether I’m getting ready for a long hard day at the office or simply mooching around at home, I usually always tend to start the day off by making myself look a little less scary with the help of a few affordable make-up goodies. That’s right gals, it’s time to showcase those staples I reach for on days when I just want simple results using the essentials in my growing cosmetic collection. Having been asked (quite a few times) recently what products I tend use most often when I’m not glamming myself up with lashings of liner and shimmer, I thought it would be a fun idea to give y’all a run through of what I’ve been using most this past month.

For anyone eager to check out any of the products featured I’ve listed everything in the description box underneath the video directly on the channel… all you have to do is *Click Here* to be virtually whisked off to the Confetti & Curves YouTube haven where you can find out all the juicy details on the make-up I’m using… as well as procrastinate a little longer by catching up on some of my previous videos. Why not eh?! Oh, and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button so you never miss a future upload 😉
