So how did this little Irish clan come to know all about Bee Beautiful? Well, as most of you already know it was my daughter Emma’s 10th birthday a few weeks ago, and one of her (many) gifts was this gorgeous selection of the mini bath fizzies from her big sister Hayley… how cute are these? 😀

Bee Beautiful 1

Of course being a craver of all funky little bath treats myself, I couldn’t help but get intrigued – especially on whiffing the amazing selection of scents! Here’s what Emma received in her gift bag…

Blue Lagoon (Banana)

Charlie Bear (Baby Powder)

Parma Delights (Parma Violets)

Bizzy Bee (Honey)

Green Apple

Very Berry (Strawberry)

.

“Our Bee Beautiful Bath Bombs and Smoothies give you a different experience in your bath, whether it is fruity freshness, spicy sensations or sweet scents of honey. They are all handmade, using pure ingredients and the finest essential oils.

Drop a Bee Beautiful Bath Bomb into a bath of warm water and it will fizz vigorously, releasing its perfume and essential oils, while the Bicarbonate of Soda softens the water and the almond oil and honey moisturiser help to smooth and nourish your skin. Rinse bath well after use.”

All sounds rather tempting, however the real treat begins when you pop just one of these fizzy little fella’s into your bath & watch it fizzle furiously as the room fills with your choosen delicious fragrance. Emma opted for testing one of the Parma Violets whereas I haven’t been able to resist recently trying out the Green Apple – what a scent to savour!

I have to admit, it doesn’t just stop at a great smelling bathroom as they leave your skin feeling incredibly soft, supple & silky smooth. Considering price tag for their larger bath bombs starts at only £1.99, this is most definitely a pocket friendly treat or gift idea – particularly coming up to the jolly hols!

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

Professional Natural Alternative Beauty Enlightenment

What inspired you to start blogging?

I started my first blog, Mind Weeding, to help some of my salon clients understand the effects of chemicals commonly used in beauty products. I’ve taken all of that information down in the last two years. I recently started PhytoPretty so I could share knowledge about all natural and alternative beauty from the perspective of a salon professional, with a more widespread group of readers.

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

I think every blogger has obstructions in their word-flow from time to time. When I experience this, I go to other bloggers for inspiration. There’s already so much interesting information out in the blogosphere to take from and contribute to. Sharing someone else’s perspective usually gets my wheels turning enough to spin-off into my own experience.

What’s your favourite post to date?

In the realm of content, my favorite post on PhytoPretty is “Stylist Explains Why DIY Beauty Recipes Don’t Work & How to Fix Them.” It’s got great information about the pH balance of the hair & skin followed by a super tip for homemade beauty formulas. But the readers’ choice, so far, has been my post on formulating your own essential oil hair treatment.

Describe your everyday style:

This time of year, from head to toe, this is generally me: oversized beanie, stunner shades, long tank, printed tee, hoodie or a fun jacket, brightly-coloured scarf, jeans or leggings, and tall boots or moccasins.

What are your current top 3 beauty items?
In this order: Coconut oil, cold water (to tighten pores), and eyeliner.

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

Drink a micro-brew, snuggle up with my kids or my love, and/or meditate, and not necessarily in that order.

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

On an ideal Saturday night, the kids are getting along with each other and agree to help me clean up our messes before we all sit down and watch a movie together.

What’s your favourite junk food snack?

Do I have to answer?… Ok, fine. I find a guilty-pleasure in Twinkies. When they were discontinued for that short while, even though it had been months since I’d eaten one, I felt like Woody Harrelson’s character in Zombieland. I was on the hunt for any sign that there might be a Twinkie left in the storage room of every convenience store I entered.

Everyone has their hidden bad habits, what’s yours?

Unconsciously chewing on my hangnails when I’m stressed out. I don’t know if this is hidden, but it’s definitely a habit I want to break. I’ve made my fingers bleed more than once.

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

My best friend growing up was a Pueblo girl, whose family was active in their native culture: chiseling arrowheads from obsidian, tanning deer hides for making drums, etc. One of my favorite memories, that comes to mind in this moment, is the day that her and I went out into the field behind her family’s house and built our own little teepee from items we found outside. We sat inside it and braided each other’s hair. When her parents caught us getting ready to build a fire inside, we got in trouble and had to stop. We were about 8 or 9 years old at the time.

What was your favourite school subject?

In K-12, I loved art. In college, anything that had to do with anatomy and the functions of the body was super intriguing to me, so I always paid close attention. It was fitting that my first career choice was as a stylist. It’s the perfect combination of art, science, and the human body.

What’s your dream job?

That makes me smile, because I’m doing it. I want to write from my home office. I’m working as a content creator for a marketing company and finishing a children’s book as well.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Living somewhere off-grid in Hawaii with my family.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

5. Buying a home
4. Getting off the grid
3. Seeing India
2. Learning to surf
1. Building a family-friendly retreat centre

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

All mother’s say their children are their biggest achievement, so I’ll skip over that for fear of sounding redundant… Shift to career highlights. When I was 25, my co-worker and I opened our own funky hair salon, The Urban Hillbilly. That triggered a sense of pride. The salon is still open today, with some of the original staff. I don’t go in anymore, but I drive by when I’m in town, and the shop is always hopping.

Who inspires you?

Honestly, my children inspire me more than anyone else. There are philanthropic fashion icons and celebrities that I look up to from afar, but I learn the most from my children. Haha; that sounds like the beginning of a Miss America pageant contestant’s answer! – However, I don’t think Miss America allows mothers in their competition.

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

Yes!:

“The planet does not need more ‘successful people.’ The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of all kinds. It needs people to live well in their places. It needs people with moral courage willing to join the struggle to make the world habitable and humane and these qualities have little to do with success.” -The Dalai Llama

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

I have one piece of advice, and I think it’s pretty important: Be genuine. If you’re a blogger today, you’re side-by-side with hundreds, sometimes tens of thousands of other blogs, depending on your niche. People want to read what’s real, what they can relate to, what they trust. Always share your truth.

QUICK FIRE QUESTIONS:

Tea or Coffee = Coffee! I can’t live without it.

Coke or Pepsi = Neither, but if I go there, I like my cola in a glass bottle.

Salad Cream or Mayo = Hummus!

Cute kitten or Playful puppy = Ooohh… That’s tough, but I have to say puppy.

Night In or Night Out = Usually a night in, I rarely crave a night on the town.

Heels or Flats = Flats. When I actually wear heels, I almost always end up going home barefoot at the end of the day.

Lip Stick or Lip Gloss = Coconut oil

Rock Chick or Pop Princess = Rock chic, definitely!

Paperback or E-book = I want to say paperback, but I definitely read a lot more e-books.
