For as long as I can remember I’ve always been one for a sprinkle of sparkle but when it’s combined with my favourite pinky rose-gold tones it’s destined to be a winner. So when I spotted this rather sassy looking glitter polish from Maybelline Colour Show I just knew I HAD to have it… you know, one of those moments when your shopping list is all but forgotten whilst you ‘Ooooh & Aaaah’ over a delicious unexpected new find? Yep, it was one of those. In fact, I’ve had quite a few of those moments in the past but a majority of the time the products I’ve ended up cooing over haven’t quite lived up to the same excited expectations once I’m back home testing. However from the very first brush stroke of this shimmery chic polish I fell head over heels in love ❤
At a mere £2.99 it’s an absolute bargain & I personally haven’t stumbled across another glitter varnish quite as beautiful. At first glance the name ‘Pink Party Dress’ kind of took me back as it seemed much more coppery in the bottle, however on application the warm pink tones subtly shine through to create a playful champagne sparkle on the nail.
The formula isn’t too thick or gloopy (like many of sparkle polishes can be) and it’s totally build-able from the first stroke. Considering that it boasts a super fast 60 second drying time you’ll not be left for wafting your hands in frustration whilst the minutes pass by.
The glitter itself is quite small but the coverage is certainly impressive… maybe it’s just me, but with a few of my other glitter polishes I tend to have to really try and smoother the brush with glittler to ensure the nail gets treated to punchy layer of sparkle. With this polish, it’s bling from the moment you unscrew the lid.
Perfect as a sassy top coat, it’s easily layered over your favourite nude colour or instead just jump right in to build it up to create an eye-catching all over sparkle. Whatever your preference it’s definitely one to add to your wish list as the perfect addition to dress up your digits this autumn.
