Whats in my jewellery box

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today’s post is a little different from my usual as the lovely folk over at Invaluable got in touch and asked if I’d like to do a bit of a fun collab on a rather glitzy topic…

If you aren’t familiar with Invaluable.com it’s a superb website containing listings of beautiful jewelery, art & collectibles (amongst many other fancy goodies). Do have a peek at some of the stunning items for sale, it really is a virtual treasure trove. If you fancy your luck placing a few bids you just may end up with a gorgeous glitzy keepsake of your very own to cherish!

So of course, all this scanning over radiant rocks and precious pearls has made me want to have a good rummage through my own little jewellery box. Here’s what I found…

Okay, so my earring collection may not rival Her Majesties but I love it… collecting cutesy, quirky little earrings is just my thing. The cuter and (obviously) more owl like the better in my humble opinion!

Aren’t they a hoot? 😀 Yep, slightly obsessed with owls – have been for years but lately with a boom in owl jewellery they’re much easier to come across. These 3 pairs were all bought by Steve who loves nothing better *it would seem* to lavish his own bird with birds 😉

Onto the necklaces, now I must confess it’s not often I wear necklaces but every now and again I’ll dabble in a little neck decor… as expected, more owls… the gorgeous big one was a surprise from Hayley my step-daughter and the teeny turquoise one I spotted at a local craft stall and had to have him. A few of the others are costume jewellery I’ve picked up here and there however the little cross and angel on the end were a gift that was given to me a few years ago. My faith is an important part of my life and this is such a sentimental keepsake in it’s honour.

Up until a few years ago I was a huge bracelet hoarder… in fact I had to clear out an enormous amount of little trinket bracelets I’d collected over the years and had no room for. However now I’ve somewhat downsized I’m no longer struggling for choice. I’m a huge fan of silver so everything I buy is always in cool metallics. As for watches I’m one of those bizarre folk who cannot bear a watch on my wrist (even though I’ve hoarded a few rather pretty ones over the years) rather odd considering up until a few years ago I couldn’t have left the house without wearing one!

This is by far one of the most sentimental pieces of jewellery I own. It’s an incredibly old charm bracelet that was handed down to me by my grandmother. Over the years family members have added to it by buying such intriguing and quirky little additions. I absolutely adore it in every sense, however it’s not something I’d wear for fear of loosing it but most definitely a treat to look at every now and again. See how the little keys spell out I-Love-You? Also, the tiny little girl on the swing actually moves!

So there you have it guys, a little peek into my humble jewellery box that’s filled with a selection of little trinkets that are certainly invaluable to me!

And if you’re on the hunt for something new to sparkle in, don’t forget to stop by Invaluable.com to check out the selection of gorgeous jewellery available to place your bids on now ladies 😉

Cheerio chums…
