Behind The Blog… featuring Brianna from Freckle Me Silly

Freckle Me Silly

Happy Thursday lovelies…

Can you believe that yet another weekend is *almost* upon us?

So I’ve decided this weekend it’s time to tackle a few projects that have been lingering in the background… namely clearing out the (slightly terrifying) spare room *siiiiigh* However I have a feeling it’ll all be purely good intention as come those 48 hours of relaxation my schedule will be stuffed with much more important things; like catching up on YouTube vid’s & reading a multitude of blog posts 😉

Talking of which, today we’re back with another Behind The Blog shenanigans as the adorable Brianna from Freckle Me Silly (possibly the cutest blog name ever) is in the virtual hot seat, ready and willing to give us a little peak into the life of such a creative blogger who’s booming with personality. If you haven’t checked out her little corner of the interweb then I suggest you get yourself over pronto and say hello… I’m pretty sure you’ll love it just as much as I do!

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

Laughs, helpful tips, inspiration, personality

.

What inspired you to start blogging?

Poetry, actually. I wanted a place to share and connect with other creative writers like myself. Eventually, I felt constricted by writing just poetry and decided to expand my blog to lifestyle, tips and humour pieces that I have now.

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

It took me some time to accept my freckles because I thought they made me look young and naive. Now, they’re one of my favourite features about my appearance because they are unique and make me me. I love my individuality, so freckle me silly!

 .

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

I wouldn’t be human if I didn’t! I often look to current events to overcome blogger’s block. Is a season or holiday coming up, do I have an interesting take on a news bit? I may also ask myself “what’s an important message I feel needs to be heard?” or “what would my followers think of this?”

 .

I’m very proud of “Dear Miss Universe”:

Behind The Blog… featuring Kate from KateKiwii

KateKiwii

Hey Beauty Buddies,

Hows your week been? Mine has been glorious, what a difference a few rays of sunshine can make! Suddenly the gloomy winter days seem a thing of the past as it seems everyone has abruptly broke out the bbq’s, donned the sunglasses and dusted off the garden furniture to bask in the pre-summer sun – even if there is a little nip in the air, it doesn’t effect the great moods.

Carrying on the cheeriness into todays post I’m deeelighted to feature our second blogger of the week on Behind The Blog. As always, if you’re new to Confetti & Curves (friendly wave) & not entirely sure what this virtual shenanigans is all about then *click here* to bring yourself up to speed – you may even find yourself getting involved. Why the heck not?!

So today’s lovely lady is the gorgeous Kate from KateKiwii! If you haven’t stopped by her cheery little corner of the interweb then get yourself over there and say a big hello. Like most of us, she’s a bit of a beauty addict but also enjoys featuring a few other exciting topics for us to feast our eyes upon. However before you do anything, settle yourself on your favourite perch to catch up with Kate as we find out a little more about the girl Behind The Blog…

Beauty, Décor, Lifestyle, Reviews and inspiration

.

What inspired you to start blogging?

I was inspired by other bloggers and I loved reading their blog post’s and I loved the thought of having my own place to put my reviews and ideas. I also wanted to become a place where people could go to find the answers to their beauty questions and other things

Katekiwii came from an old nickname, I put it together with my name and it kind of clicked and ever since then I’ve used it as my name for a lot of things.

 .

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

Yes all the time! It’s not a bad thing but it can be a little annoying at times, but I then I either go out or watch a film and the inspiration for a blog post idea just pop’s into my head. I also keep a notepad where I jot little ideas down so when I get writers block I can open my notepad and look at pasts blog post ideas.

 .

What’s your favourite post to date?

My favourite post has to be my ‘ How I Curl Short Hair’ http://katekiwii.com/2014/11/07/how-i-curl-short-hair/  I loved doing this little post as I never had the confidence going in front of a camera so when I got my new camera I thought why not, I sat down and I felt so relaxed and it gave me the confidence to start putting my face more on my blog.

Describe your everyday clothes style:

In the day I wear a lot of dresses with a jumper over the top, black tights, boots and my favourite coat over the top. When I’m at home the comfy clothes get thrown on.

Takeaway, Netflix, comfy clothes and good company

 .

What do you do to relax?

Watch films, read a book and a bubble bath. These things make me relax so much.

10 Top Bridesmaid Gift Ideas…

Ten Bridesmaid Gifts

For some brides, choosing a gift for their leading ladies can be a real struggle. Most of the time it boils down to simply over-thinking the options, especially if you’re buying for a gal who pretty much wants for nothing.

So before you end up turning yourself grey with stress, just remind yourself the gift doesn’t have to knock her sideways with shock; it’s simply a token of appreciation for helping you make it up the aisle in one piece. Keep it simple and just what it should be: a little something to say thanks.

To help inspire, I’ve compiled a list of ten cute gifts that are simple but effective when it comes to treating your merry maids…

  • To Infinity & Beyond: These super cute infinity bracelets aren’t just a beautifully understated piece of jewellery, the meaning behind the symbol is in the name. What a better way to declare your never-ending friendship… best of all they can be individually personalised thanks to My Name Necklace.

  • Lights, Camera, Action: For a gift that has a little more interaction, why not treat your ladies to tickets for an upcoming show or concert? It’s something fun to look forward to after the big day & a great chance to catch up… dinner & a cheeky pre-show cocktail could be factored in too! 😉

  • Bag Lady: What girl wouldn’t love a brand new Ted Baker Make-Up Bag? These gorgeous cosmetic carriers will brighten up any maid’s makeup collection! Currently available at House Of Fraser…

  • Full of Fizz: Lush has indeed some of the most scent-sational bath & body sets around. This stunning Bella Fruta box contains six scrumptuous smelling goodies that your maids will love, great for a relaxing pamper night after the big day. • Boxed Up: How beautiful are these personalised Maid of Honour/Bridesmaid jewellery boxes? Such a thoughtful keepsake, you could even pop a little bejewelled surprise in just to start her off. Just one of the lovely keepsakes available from The Gift Experience

  • Talented Talons: The Rio Professional Nail Artist ‘Ultimate Nail Art Collection’ set not only gets rave reviews, it contains virtually every nail tool she’ll ever need to keep her digits looking delightful. Check out the full range of fabulous nail & beauty treats available from Rio.

  • Burn Baby Burn: Who doesn’t love the aroma of a good old Yankee Candle? The hardest thing about walking into that shop is trying not to spend a small fortune as they’re all so divine. If you can’t decide on a large jar you could always opt for a range of smaller candles and make your own little mini maid hamper! Visit the online store to view their amazing selection – just don’t be too surprised if a few additional little sneaky treats end up making their way into your virtual shopping bag!

  • You’re A Star: I must admit, I love the idea of naming a star as a gift – especially when it comes with this cute little bear. In my humble opinion this is such a unique and sentimental token of appreciation for maids of all ages, especially if they’re proving a little difficult to buy for. Available from Star Listings International

  • Charmed: You can’t go wrong when it comes to picking a Pandora Charm as they’re all beautifully crafted and super sweet. However, how aptly appropriate is this little Champagne wedding charm?

  • Sweet Tooth: Having most likely spent the last six months swapping creme eggs for carrot sticks, your maid may well be in need of a serious sugar fix and what better way to treat her taste buds than a huge choccie hamper from Lindt… is there anyone out there that doesn’t love those little red Lindt balls?
