Keeping Up With Karen…

Keeping Up With Karen

Woo Hoo 2016!

Did ya’ll had a lovely time ringing in the bells? We were invited to friends who live close by & ended up spending most of the night pulling moves on the Nintendo Wii… trying to perfect my bowling skills on the sports resort whilst having a glass or two too many proved to be a bit tricky; of course Friday was spent reflecting on exactly why I don’t intoxicate myself with alcohol any more *groans*

However one thing I have noticed is that NYE seems to have a notable divide of two types of people. The type that love to celebrate it with jovial countdowns whilst preparing to merrily belt out Aul Lang Syne at the top of their lungs OR the type that usually detest it with a passion & would much prefer to saunter off to bed with a good book whilst mentally saying bah humbug to all those ridiculous party goers. In previous years I tended to be more of the latter, as time goes on I begin to find myself more so dreading the thought of not acknowledging the ‘out with the old & in with the new’. Even if it’s simply gathering in a friends living room the other end of the village, it still feels like I’m out but not quite ‘out out’ where I have the hassle of sore feet, taxi’s and spending the night having drink spilt over me whilst draining the contents of my bank account! Great friends, a glass of something fizzy and game of virtual bowling on a games console is all we needed to enjoy an evening of giggles and celebrations! What did you do on NYE, was it a cosy night in or glitzy night out?

However for those of you (who like myself) are spending the entire weekend recovering from festivities – here’s a little recap on what’s been happening on Confetti & Curves this week to keep you busy whilst you’re sipping on your mid-morning latte…

What I’ve Learned This Year from Blogging & YouTubing…

Even though only a week has passed it feels like ages since I uploaded my last video… must the be the effect Christmas has on me as my coherence of dates & days it is has gone right out the window! Anyone else stuck in a blurred time warp right now? *refills coffee cup*

Talking of time & all that malarkey, I’m super excited to upload today’s video as the lovely Kayla from Luna Faye dropped me a line to ask if I would like to join in a collab with herself (and a few others) to chat about the things that we’ve learned from blogging & YouTube during 2015. Not being one to pass up on such an exciting opportunity I gladly accepted!

Blogging has most certainly changed my life in more ways than I could have imagined. In fact it’s been pretty crucial to helping me cope with a few tough personal health struggles. Having said that, the real gratitude goes straight out to you guys… without your continuous support, encouragement & friendship I wouldn’t enjoy it half as much, or indeed end up smiling through tear stained eyes after a really tough day!

So if you’d like to find out what things I’ve taken from my blogging (& YouTubing) journey this past 12 months then get yourself comfy… actually, you might wanna grab a cuppa for this one 😉

Thanks once again to the lovely Kayla from Luna Faye Beauty for arranging this collaboration with us all. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the videos to hear what all the other girls have to say about their blogging/YouTubing experiences too! Here’s the links below to all their fab channels:

Favourite Fall Look Featuring Urban Decay…

Greetings Beauty Buddies…

If there’s one thing I love (almost as much as fall) it’s getting glammed up using one of my highly treasured Urban Decay NAKED palettes. So when the gorgeous Stephanie Mora from Stephie Estie graced my inbox with a rather exciting email inviting me to take part in a fun filled collaboration (with a few other awesome blog buddies) to showcase my favourite fall look using one of my Urban Decay NAKED palettes I jumped at the chance! Of course as you all know by know, with Wednesday being my YouTube upload day what better way to show y’all my fav fall look than by rustling up a chatty tutorial! Taa daa!

Apart from the luscious packaging, super pigmentation & long lasting power of these incredible eye shadow palettes, the colour range they contain is very much swoon worthy in my humble opinion. If you don’t already have a NAKED palette in your ever-expanding cosmetic collection I cannot recommend saving your hard earned pennies & treating yourself to a high end spend on literally any of the their range. You’ll not regret it for one moment ladies… brownie promise!!

Don’t forget to check out these lovely ladies blogs as well. All are due to feature their own favourite looks today so keep your peepers peeled for:

Stephie Estie

My personal skin care guru who is forever blessing me with her infinite pearls of cosmetic wisdom… plus, she’s one of the nicest bloggers around! What a gal 🙂

.

Hello Kaily

Wonderfully witty & a whiz with a liquid liner wand! Also one of my fav YouTubers… don’t forget to check out her channel to avoid missing out on all the crazy Kaily action!

5 Blogs I Love… with Kaily from Someday Sunny!

Five Blogs I Love

Hey Beauty Buddies…

I’m super excited today as I post my very first collab *Eeeep* with the lovely Kaily from Someday Sunny. Kaily and I were having a chatter a few weeks ago & somehow got round to gabbling about our fav bloggers, which led to the conclusion it would be a great collab opportunity! Never one for passing a fun opportunity, I jumped at the chance.

Now seeing as I adore sooo many of your beautiful blogs here on WordPress, I simply couldn’t narrow it down to 5 blog buddy favourites, so instead I’ve opted for 5 blogs that originally inspired me to create Confetti & Curves.

I’m sure many of you will be more than familiar with a few of these famous names & faces – if not, do check them out! I’m convinced you’ll be hooked as much as I am…

1) Louise – Sprinkle of Glitter

Sprinkle of Glitter

I originally stumbled across Louise’s super successful YouTube channel last year and was instantly hooked. If (like me) your a fan of Louise’s blog, you’ll most likely agree that it’s packed full of really inspiring posts on everything she loves in life… parenting, beauty, crafts, travelling, friends, and fabulous fashion for curvy girls!

2) Anna – Vivianna Does Makeup

Vivianna Does Makeup

What this gal doesn’t know about makeup simply isn’t worth knowing at all. Anna has works her magnificently manicured nails to the bone to create an online haven for all of us who adore our daily dose of beauty briefings and ultra useful tutorials. Check out her weekly Vlogs too, they’re utterly addictive!

3) BlogHer

BlogHer

BlogHer isn’t so much as a singular blog but rather a whole community of phenomenally useful blog articles. Written by women for women, there’s everything from style, work, life, relationships, beauty, health, family, food – trust me the list goes on… it’s an online sanctuary for ladies of all ages as there is truly something for everyone. However before you check it out I’d advise you to get comfy and clear your schedule for a few hours –  you could be there for quite some time! Yes, it’s that good 😉

 …

4) A Thrifty Mrs

A Thrifty Mrs

Any blog that claims I can ‘have a blast without blowing the budget’ gets a virtual thumbs up from me! Thrifty Mrs is bunged with top cash-savvy tips that will teach even the most money conscious of blogger a thing or two – this girl has a serious knack of saving the strain on your purse strings by introducing you to top guidance on beauty purchases, home make-overs, crafts, recipes and much much more. The blog is beautifully presented, easy to navigate and filled with great advice & freebies – you’ll be thriftifying your ways in no time!

5) Marlena – Simply Marlena

Simplyh Marlena

For those of you who haven’t already heard of Marlena (goodness knows why) she’s the founder and creator of Makeup Geek, a brand that seems to have taken the US by storm. Apart from her awe inspiring success, Marlena’s personal blog Simply Marlena tends to focus more on her personal musings. The one thing I love about her is how open and honest she is about personal struggles and often just life in general. If anyone can encourage you it’s Marlena!

Finally a huge thanks to the gorgeous Kaily from Someday Sunny, it’s been a ridiculously fun first collab! Don’t forget to pop over and check out her top picks too… see you there! 🙂
