Change

Hello, Howdy, Bonjour…

Wow, what a sabbatical it has been!  And yes, I’m having major blogging withdrawal symptoms *sigh* In fact, if you’d have told me 6 months ago that I’d be taking a 60-day break from blogging I’d have laughed merrily and told you to catch a grip… you all know how damn addicted I am to my scribing. But it’s been so so SO worth it as there’s been so many exciting things happening over the last number of weeks that I’ve needed to prioritise… but all will be a bit clearer very soon.  However, in the process of recent events I’ve discovered a few home truths:

Cherry Bakewells are not considered part of your ‘five a day’ *sigh*

 .

Ticking the tiniest tasks of a To-Do list is so satisfying that you start writing things like ‘Wake Up’ & ‘make more tea’.

 .

I go through more post it notes in one day than toilet roll in a week.

 .

2 am is most definitely my EUREKA hour.

 .

I’ve developed a keen skill for looking interested when in fact I’m making mental notes about something completely irrelevant.

 .

Wearing odd socks is absolutely okay – wearing odd shoes is not.

 .

Cats make the best company… they listen but don’t interrupt with a reply.

Toilet trips are utterly inconvenient.

 .

Time is of no meaning when I stray onto YouTube.

.

A mason jar full of jelly babies looks super cute on my desk… however consuming vast quantities of orange ones because they may be ‘nutritionally beneficial’ is not an acceptable excuse.

Anyways, what have I missed? How have you all been? Is everyone keeping well? For those that have been so supportive throughout my break, – thank you! The subscriber count continues to grow daily & I promise to get round to all your recent emails & comments very shortly. In the meantime, you may begin to notice a few new changes with the blog and social media, especially over the next number of weeks… all positive and exciting and I’ll be keeping y’all updated as I go! Don’t worry – more info to follow 🙂

Don’t forget to say a quick hello! It’s been a while  X

      • Oh my gosh Galit, I had no idea that it was that serious sweetheart. I am so so sorry to hear you’ve all been battling this behind the scenes 😦 On a positive note that is encouraging to know a few more sessions could well see her free of it. Can’t tell you how much I’m thinking of you all huni. Total respect for being such a supportive daughter to your mum *huuuge hugs* XXXXXXX

      • Thank you so much hun, yeah… It’s been hard 3 month with all that is going on, but I do hope that after these new 3 sessions, the cancer will go away for good. But she is strong and I am sure she will fight this until it’s all gone.

I’m doing well – sure how could I not be considering the lovely weather we’ve been having the last few days. It’s almost been like summer! (well, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few sunny spring days is the best we get all year :D) You getting the sunshine up there?

      • It absolutely does – you guys are such a supportive wee online family, I can’t believe just how much I miss yous when I’m not on! How is that gorgeous weather? Is it holding up down there? It’s a bit grey here but the sun is desperately trying to peek through the clouds!! Lets hope for a fab summer – though I’m as sceptical as you are when it comes to an Irish summer lol lol XXXX

      • Not at all – back to grey here and plenty of downpours! Well, it was quite sunny yesterday up in Dublin when I was there but of course I was spending my time in a room with no windows xD But it’s still early in the year, there’s time for the sun to come back!

      • I have to admit it is a challenge to be self hosted for sure and there’s a few glitches I’m still working on but I am proud of myself for the progress I’ve done so far. 🙂 I’m doing good. I’ve been going to get pelvic floor therapy for my IC and I think it’s going well. Fingers crossed. How are you Karen? Last time I read, you were in some pain.

      • You have done AMAZING lovely!! I’m so proud of you too 🙂 If it’s not too personal what is IC? Glad to hear it’s going well. I’m still in pain daily, but I’m coping as best I can Stephie – somedays are a little bit better. But on the grand scheme of things it could be so much worse – just getting on with life and trying to be as positive each day as I can. Baby steps 😉 XXXX

      • Aww thank you Karen! IC is short for Interstitial Cystitis which is a chronic inflammation of the bladder. So think of symptoms of a UTI but without the infection. 😦 I’m so sorry to hear that you’re in pain Karen. With chronic illness, I learn that it’s one day at a time. We have to learn to cherish the great moments and get through the rough ones. Reaching out for support has helped me so if you ever need someone to talk to, you know where to find me. Sending big hugs. xo

      • Oh no that sounds absolutely awful Stephie 😦 I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with that!! You’re absolutely right about it being one day at a time… and again about cherishing the good times to get through the bad. It’s not easy! Thank you SO much for your kind offer, I always know where you are huni if I need anyone to chat too ❤ Thank you sweetheart – and the same for you too!!!! Big hugs XXXX

      • Oh wow, well I’ll be keeping fingers, toes and legs crossed as best I can that you get the funding you need huni!!! Keep me posted on how that goes!!!
Awwh I’m sorry to hear your health is very much all over the place. I’m exactly like that too – I’m having strange bouts of insomnia, restless legs (and hands) along with horrible swelling of my legs and feet. I’m a disaster case Ems lol But I guess it’s whats to be expected, and I keep reminding myself that it could be so much worse huni. Hope you’re not burning yourself out with the uni work load!! XXXXX

      • I am exactly the same Karen xx insomnia and restless legs are awful! I’ve been prescribed amitriptyline to help with sleep and that seems to help my restless legs too xx hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend xx
