Hey Beauty Buddies,
I’ve been rekindling my love affair with some of my staples this weekend, as being on a bit of a makeup spending ban is really encouraging me to use up a few goodies that’s been lying dormant around my makeup drawers. As much as I adore shopping for new cosmetics there comes a time when you realise some of the older stuff you have reeeeeally needs used up before moving onto introducing newbies. So to help me get acquainted with some of my old favourites (including items I haven’t used in what feels like yeeears) I opted to base my look around the Avon’s Duo True Colour Eyeshadow Compact in Pink Ice. Here’s a peek at what pocket friendly items I used to create my summery weekend look….
.
FACE
Max Factor Lasting Performance in 102 Pastelle – £9.99 Boots
L’Oreal Infallible Sculpt Contouring Kit – £9.99 Boots
Makeup Revolution Hot Spice Palette – £6.00 Makeup Revolution Store
.
EYE’S
Avon Shadow Duo compact in Pink Ice – £6.00 Avon
Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara in Very Black – £7.99 Boots
Rimmel Glam Eyes Professional Liquid Liner – £5.29 Boots
Collection Glam Crystals Glitter Eyeliner in Funk 3 – £2.99 Superdrug
Billion Dollar Brows Brow Powder – £8.99 AllBeauty.Com
.
LIPS
Natural Collection Lip Liner in Ruby Rose – £1.99 from Boots
Bourjois Lip Shine in 24 Rose xoxo – currently unavailable *sob*
.
THE FINAL RESULT:
What do you think gals? Personally I’m swaying towards the tones of the shadow being more lilac than Pink Ice, needless to say it’s actually pretty okay and I’m really glad I didn’t ditch it as intended. In fact if the colour pay off is anything to go by I’d certainly be tempted to have a peek at some of Avon’s other duo shadow compact!
What’s your verdict? Are you a fan of pink eye shadow? What’s your favourite summer colour to dress up your lids with? Whatever your thoughts I’d love to read them in the comments below so do stop by for a quick chatter! Wishing y’all a fabulous week ahead 🙂

Beautiful as ever Karen! I agree sometimes there comes a time where you’ve got to say no to buying makeup and use up what you already have first x

I like how you mixed warm and cool (warm cheeks vs cool eyes) – I often do this but I’m not sure if I’m breaking some makeup “rule” but I think it looks great. 😛 How do you find the quality of Avon eye shadows? I’ve been curious.

lol lol I was thinking that too when I was doing it but sometimes I just tend to go with whatever I feel drawn too… I guess I’ve dodged the makeup police for another day lol
Funny you should ask about Avon shadows I reeeeeeally wasn’t impressed on this one first time I tried it due to the fall out… however I decided to give it a go this time round only with wetting my brush and I love it!! Has made such a different to fallout, pigmentation etc. Not as long lasting as some but it stayed on a good 8 hours or so, which is long enough for a good full day at the office 😀 Personally I think MUR are hard to beat!!
