Well it would seem I’m not the only one who goes all gooey at the arrival of a new set of paws! A huuuge thank you to everyone who checked out yesterday’s post ‘A new Arrival‘ & left such love filled comments for little Borris! Needless to say he’s doing superbly, and a few of you mentioned you’d like to see a little more of him so watch this space… I just might get the camcorder out this week to record his cute little waddle! I know, I know, I’m turning into one of those weird & obsessive cat lady’s… but hey, I’m a gooey mess when it comes to cats, particularly baby cats – and I’m glad so many of you love him almost as much as I do 😀
Keeping on the theme of ‘spreading the love’ I have a super duper talented blog buddy to introduce y’all to today as the gorgeous Sheema from Sheema Zaman stylishly graces the virtual sofa this morning to talk about her impeccably presented beauty & lifestyle blog. If you love your dose of blog reading to consist of a cocktail of cosmetics, inspirational fashion, a sprinkling of travel with a dash of lifestyle, then you’ll love Sheema’s blog for sure!
However before you pop over to say hello, grab your cuppa and get comfy as we take a peek Behind The Blog…
In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:
A mixed cocktail of everything!
.
What inspired you to start blogging?
I’ve always had a passion for writing and photography. I’ve never enrolled for a photography course but it’s something I always wanted to do. So this time last year, I took the plunge and started blogging and have loved it since.
.
Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?
Now when I think about it, I wish I had a very creative one but it’s just my name which is rather boring!
.
Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?
Yes absolutely, It happens all the time. think it’s important to put out content that you believe in. Never put out anything because you have to or you’re under pressure to do so. I look to people, nature, magazines, websites, for inspiration always.
My blog is an art for me, it’s a visual medium so I try to make sure only content that I’m truly happy with makes it even if I’m a little late in delivering.
.
What’s your favourite post to date?
I enjoyed writing for all my travel posts, but the one that stands out for me has to be the Bicester Village one.
It was a rainy day but I managed to get some good pictures. Also, a little nostalgic as the Carluccio’s restaurant is no longer there and I have very fond memories of it and it’s luckily been captured in the post.
.
Describe your everyday clothes style:
I’d say my style is feminine and fun. I love colour and fabrics and love to mix and match. I love wearing long flowy dresses, with accessories.. a little bohemian touch.
.
What are your current top 3 beauty items?
Lipstick, mascara and a concealer.
.
How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?
Watching tv with a good cup of coffee is a great relaxation for me. I also love listening to music too.
Describe your ideal Saturday night:
If a good movie is out then def a visit to the cinema is a must! Otherwise I enjoy staying at home compared to going out. I love spending time with friends and family as everyone is always so busy during the weekdays and this is the only time we get to hang out with each other .
.
What do you do to relax?
As before, catching up on tv shows and reading is a great relaxation for me. I watch many re-runs of the cheesiest tv shows, such a guilty pleasure!
.
Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?
In terms of beauty, I hoard a lot of makeup. I don’t wait till it’s finished and will end up buying more. So that’s a habit that I’m trying my best to change now.
.
What’s your most cherished childhood memory?
There are so many fond memories..! Hmm the one that comes to my mind is going to the farm with my parents and siblings when we were younger and picking strawberries. We used to go pretty much every weekend and I really miss those times.
.
What was your favourite school subject?
I really enjoyed my English lessons, I had also written many poems in school and so my teacher got it published for me. It was only one book for school use but it was an achievement for me.
.
What’s your dream job?
I love travelling and photography. So maybe a travel photographer or an interior designer. I love the creative aspects of these jobs.
.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I would just like to live a healthy happy life with near and dear ones.
.
What top 5 things are on your bucket list?
* I’m fascinated by stars, so walking under the stars on a beach
* to see the northern lights
* to watch the running of the bulls in Pamplona Spain
* to have a bonfire party
* to travel as much as I can
.
What’s your biggest achievement to date?
Gosh, I think it’s yet to come
.
Who inspires you?
As cliched as it may sound, my inspiration comes from my parents first. I think any child looks up to their parents especially during their early life. Then, all those people who make such a positive change with their thoughts and actions inspire me greatly.
.
Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?
I love this quote by Rumi which is so uplifting ” Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure”.
.
What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?
If there’s one thing that I have learnt, it is to be patient. A lot of people give up early. It takes time and effort for results to show. So keep working on good content and success will follow surely.
Connecting with fellow bloggers is key! Try to engage and communicate with likeminded people and it opens up the communications channels for you.
Most importantly be you!
