Hey Beauty Buddies…

Would it be overly cliche to say I’ve broke yet ANOTHER nail? The last remaining one with a bit of length to it *sigh* I swear they’re dropping like flies here, gone are the days of my long, strong nails only to be replaced with a set of uneven stumps*sobs* So as it stands I’m currently stocking up on Vitamin D, in hope that it’ll some how save the day with a miracle cure before I end up with a row of exposed nail beds. All I have to do is look at the damn things and they split… a trip to Holland & Barrett couldn’t have come any sooner. Hmm, moving onto a more positive note, a huuuge big thank you to all who check out yesterdays post The Makeup Revolution Menu: First Impressions. As always, you guys leave the best feedback and smile inducing comments – I’m chuffed to bits you liked the finished look and loved the Golden Sugar palette & 5 Baked Eye Shadows just as much as I do. I’m still swooning 🙂

However time to grab the cuppa and get yourself comfy as we welcome our first Behind The Blogger of the week… the gorgeous Jessica-Anne from her absolutely stunning blog The Lawyer Look. What inspired you to start blogging?

I started blogging when I got myself really into watching YouTube videos and reading other people’s blogs, and I thought ‘I want to do this’. I had a massive love for everything beauty related and I just wanted to share my own opinions with people who can actually be bothered to read them!

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

My blog name changed a few times, however I settled with The Lawyer Look. It comes from the idea that I’m a law student and soon to be lawyer hence ‘The Lawyer’ and my blog is mainly beauty related hence the ‘Look’!

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

I suffer from “Blogger’s Block” all the time, I seem to be going through it a few times every month! L However, I’m starting to try overcome it by writing about whatever I want and not putting myself into a niche. Also, I now have a little ‘Blogging Book’ where I put all my ideas in and it just means I have something to go to if I ever need a random blog idea!

This is a tricky question… Can I have two?

One of my favourite is the ‘Things that made me happy in 2015’ because it was so lovely to reflect back on the year! Also, the second post I love is my most recent and it’s the ‘A-Z of me’, this was my first really personal post on my blog and I got such a lovely response for it!

Describe your everyday clothes style:

My every day clothes style is a cute dress and some leggings! I go more for comfortable cute clothes rather than attempting any out there style picks!

What are your current top 3 beauty items?

Foundation, Eyeliner and Mascara!!

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

I like to relax by sitting in my onesie with a lovely cup of tea!

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

My ideal Saturday night would be sat relaxing on the sofa with my lovely boyfriend binge watching our favourite TV shows!

What do you do to relax?

I love having a Lush bath bomb bath and some lovely smelling candles!

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

Biting my nails!

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

I really don’t remember much of my childhood, but I think one of the earliest memories I have is walking my very first dog in the woods behind my house and playing chase with him haha!

What was your favourite school subject?

I’m a bit of a nerd… so it’s got to be history!

What’s your dream job?

I want to be a solicitor… but secretly I’d love to own a zoo…

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years I see myself hopefully out of education and finally working as a fully qualified solicitor! Whilst being a mummy to about 15 little puppies.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

Cuddle a baby monkey.

Have 2/3 beautiful children!

Go spend a month in China seeing the pandas and going sightseeing.

Own a villa in a different country, somewhere hot!

Get the courage to go and do a skydive!

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

My biggest achievement is probably sticking out university and almost making it to the end! When I started I really didn’t enjoy it, but now I’m going to be graduating in a few months!

Who inspires you?

I don’t really have particular people that inspires me. My mum and my boyfriend have always inspired me to be a better person and to try make something of myself!

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

I don’t!

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

Don’t feel like you need to compare yourself to other people! Write whatever you want to write, post as many times as you want to post. I got myself stuck in a bit of a rut at the start of my blog and really didn’t know where I fitted within the blogging community. BUT THAT DOESN’T MATTER. The blogging community is great, because there are so many unique people out there and it’s great to get to know them better!
