Behind The Blog featuring Silly Crazy Me…

Silly Crazy Me

I was on the brink of a major meltdown last night ladies as the charger lead of my beloved little laptop decided to go on the blink, just as my battery hit critically low! Frickin typical eh? After much huffing, puffing, inward cursing & sprouting of grey hairs. FINALLY the issue was resolved, as I resorted to battling whether to embrace the machine with some sort of strange maternal wave of relief or flinging it out the closest window with seething fury… I opted for the embrace. However I’m now left wondering if that’s why Bill Gates settled on naming his operating system Windows?!

It never fails to leave me quivering with unease at putting any crumbs of faith in technology – a bit like when my internet dies without warning (usually during a crucial upload) after which I find myself a nervous wreck for days on end. Not surprisingly I went to bed last night slightly disgruntled that I’d wasted most of my evening inwardly damning all technology & the demons it unleashes when things go haywire *sigh* Are you harbouring a technology phobia too or are you one of the lucky folk that resides with the next Bill Gates?

However time to restore the calmness as we make way on the virtual sofa for yet another talented blog buddy as the lovely Thays from Silly Crazy Me joins us for a quick chatter about her fabulous lifestyle blog! Just as the name suggests, expect a huge dose of personality as this girl loves to sprinkle our screens with a selection of fun features that are a treat to read such as one of her most recent offerings: How To Love Your Bra Again! So if quirky features mixed with fun writing & great style advice sounds like your kinda thing then get yourself over and check it out chums, I’m sure you’ll love it every bit as much as I do…

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

Silliness, craziness, style, personality, transparency.

What inspired you to start blogging?

My relationship.

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

It was originally called Silly Crazy Love because I was writing about relationship tips and a mix of other things that I loved. About a month ago I changed it to Silly Crazy Me. I no longer wanted to write about everything but instead focus on fashion. The silly and crazy are part of my personality. I don’t edit out my personality so my readers can see the silly faces I pull off or the not so picture perfect pictures ←-that was hard to say 😛 I want my readers to laugh and remember that we are all not perfect and that is perfect.

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

Oh yes, all the time! I sometimes just take that week off to forgot about all things blogging. When I come back I have a clear mind and usually can come up with idea. I also just try to read other fashion blogger and find ideas through them.

What’s your favourite post to date?

A lot of my favorite posts are the ones that I am 100% myself. One of my favs is called 4 Real Struggles of Taking Outfit Shots!

I laughed so much making this post because of all the stupid faces my friend captured 😛

Describe your everyday clothes style:

My everyday outfit usually is a loss gray top and shorts. Living in Florida means it is way to warm to wear pants! I can’t wear tight shirts because I end up sweating like crazy (my body doesn’t like me.) It sucks because whenever I want to wear a tight shirt I have to leave my arms up and put the fan on me so I don’t look like I got rained on. The struggle is real.

What are your current top 3 beauty items?

Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3. CatWalk by Tigi Curls Rock Amplifier (having super curly hair means you have way too many hair products.) Cover FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation (like it because it is my color, hate that it always makes me look shinny.)

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

Take a shower and wash all my makeup off. Get into bed and watch YouTube (zoella, sacconejolys, and The Michalaks.)

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

Sushi, and more sushi. Some YouTube and chocolate….maybe hangout with my boyfriend but I like chocolate more 😉

What do you do to relax?

Breath. I have anxiety which leads to panic attacks. Being a college student and trying to make your blog a career is very stressful. Whenever it gets really bad I go to the gym and run. Then I come back and over clean my room. Throwing things out makes me feel better 🙂

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

Procrastination! I leave everything to the last minute that Is why I am doing these questions the second I got it ❤ The problem with me is that procrastination never leads me to something bad. For example I wrote my 8 page essay for art history the day before it was due and guess what, I got an A. Then for my ethics final exam I didn’t want to study so I instead was sing throwback songs with my friends, went to bed, took the exam and got a B. That my friends is why I still procrastinate.

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

The Easter bunny coming into my house (it was my mom but I didn’t care) and hiding loads of chocolate everywhere…waking up and finding all of it and eating it 😀 That is when my addiction to chocolate happened.

What was your favourite school subject?

Art. That’s why I am a graphic design major.

What’s your dream job?

Being a blogger and creating creative content (hehe another tongue twister) that is true to who I am. The problem in this world is that girls are surround by false ideas of what they should look like instead of embracing who they are. I want to remind those girls that we are not all perfect and that is perfect.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Graduated from college and having my first apartment! I just can’t wait to make my own money to rent an apartment where I can call home.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

Become scuba certified

Learn to ski

Go back to Shanghai, China ❤

Road Trip

Go Parachuting

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

Deciding to take full control of my life and go after my dreams.

Who inspires you?

Dale Partridge

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

“Every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow” – Doug Firebaugh

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

Decide if you are doing this for a hobby or for a career. For a hobby, blog about whatever you love and don’t worry about followers, comments, money..etc. For a career your mindset has to change. You still blog about what you love but you blog for your viewers. You share with them what they want to see. You will spend countless hours working and creating. You will have to do research and plan. It’s a lot of work, that is because you are creating a business. It is not easy but if it is your dream all the hard work does not matter. At the end of the day, you love what you do and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
