Woo Hoo 2016!
Did ya’ll had a lovely time ringing in the bells? We were invited to friends who live close by & ended up spending most of the night pulling moves on the Nintendo Wii… trying to perfect my bowling skills on the sports resort whilst having a glass or two too many proved to be a bit tricky; of course Friday was spent reflecting on exactly why I don’t intoxicate myself with alcohol any more *groans*
However one thing I have noticed is that NYE seems to have a notable divide of two types of people. The type that love to celebrate it with jovial countdowns whilst preparing to merrily belt out Aul Lang Syne at the top of their lungs OR the type that usually detest it with a passion & would much prefer to saunter off to bed with a good book whilst mentally saying bah humbug to all those ridiculous party goers. In previous years I tended to be more of the latter, as time goes on I begin to find myself more so dreading the thought of not acknowledging the ‘out with the old & in with the new’. Even if it’s simply gathering in a friends living room the other end of the village, it still feels like I’m out but not quite ‘out out’ where I have the hassle of sore feet, taxi’s and spending the night having drink spilt over me whilst draining the contents of my bank account! Great friends, a glass of something fizzy and game of virtual bowling on a games console is all we needed to enjoy an evening of giggles and celebrations! What did you do on NYE, was it a cosy night in or glitzy night out?
However for those of you (who like myself) are spending the entire weekend recovering from festivities – here’s a little recap on what’s been happening on Confetti & Curves this week to keep you busy whilst you’re sipping on your mid-morning latte…

Mine was weird, lol, but the day after hubby and I watched Love Actually and curled up on the sofa with yummy drinks and some yummy cake, while we had some twinkling lights twinkle on our bookshelves 😍😃
For me it was a perfect way to celebrate and be together 💖💕

Hey Karen, so wonderful to have landed on your interesting blog. Can’t wait to read more from you and interact more. I can’t really handle the city crazyness on NYE 😉 so for me NYE is all about hiking up the nearby hill, watching the fireworks from up there, while sipping and slurping sparkling wine with my husband and friends 🙂
Wishing you a very Happy New Year, 2016 !!

Hi Karen! I spent nye at a friend’s place for a party! It was my first actual Nye party and I really enjoyed it. I completely share your feelings for having to do at least a little something for nye. I’m glad you had a great time!
I actually recently started my blog, and I have to say one of my favourite posts has got to be my MAC review. I had so much fun taking the photos and writing what I think about the products! It was my first make-up review: https://thegirlwithanaccent.wordpress.com/2015/12/19/mac-review/
