Behind The Blog… featuring Make Up World By Veena

Make Up World By Veena

Hey Beauty Buddies,

So we’re now OFFICIALLY into fall *Wooo Hooo* My favourite season has landed… no longer am I feeling summer-shamed at wearing my new cosy ankle booties or snuggling into my warm woolly damson scarf on these nippy September mornings. In addition to my new autumn wardrobe essentials, the house has a feel of fall about it too… my favourite Ikea tea lights are nestled in their cute little holders, my kitchen cupboard is stocked with jars of yummy hot drinks (I’ve even managed to dust off my oversized mugs ready to be filled with some chocolately goodness) & my rambling shoes are ready for those fabulous woodland walks. Yep, the autumn essentials are very much in check!

Talking of autumn; today I have the first official Behind The Blogger of fall 2015 *cheers of joy* as the gorgeous make-up-mama, Veena, from Make Up World By Veena, take’s her place on the virtual sofa this morning to give us a quick peek behind her super stylish blog. Of course, just one of the many things I love about blogging is the numerous amount of people you meet from all over the world. As Veena is based in the beautiful sun drenched Dubai, her online haven is alive with exciting new products that I’d just love to add to my collection! Why not check it out for yourself? She’s one of the friendliest bloggers around so you’ll be guaranteed a very warm welcome!

Sitting comfy? Then let’s get started….

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

Lots of reviews of different beauty products-skincare, make-up, beauty tools etc. Eventually I will do reviews of jewellery, clothing and accessories too. Now, I feel its time to show my readers “Dubai” so I’m working on that too.

What inspired you to start blogging?

I’ve always loved writing, make-up & art in general. It’s only at this age I’ve found a way to incorporate all that I love doing! LOL

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

Veena = my name

Kit-that’s what I call my make up pouch. hehe So, in a second ,the name just occured veenazkit. This is the official website name. But display name in my blog is ‘Make Up World by Veena’ as I didn’t like the look of the word “veenazkit” in my page.

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

Not actually. I sit, stand, sleep, cook, do make up, shop… whatever I do my mind constantly gives me hints on what I should write about. Once something comes up, I write it down in my notepad. I guess I’m still at the initial stage of blogging that’s why I have tons of ideas as of now. haha

What’s your favourite post to date?

Difficult question. Hmm, every post is so special to me as I put effort more than previous post, every time. I love taking pictures too, so with every new article I get to learn something new. But if I had to choose one, I’d say my fav is “DIY-From Glossy to Matte Lipstick”  I got good number of likes, and views for that post and few comments too. Check it out:

Describe your everyday clothes style:

I don’t work, so I’m always wearing comfy clothes at home. A loose Kurta and Churidaar pyjama (our traditional dress) or trousers and t-shirts.

Watch drama series & read-since I’m blogging already. I go through my followers’ blogs and read their materials.

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

Wait for kids to sleep, stay up late with hubby and we order pizza. 😛

What do you do to relax?

When I relax, I don’t do anything. I go to sleep, that’s relaxing for me. 😀

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

Sometimes kids get ignored because I use my cellphone a lot. Working on this though.

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

My dad is very strict, unlike any other daughter. I couldn’t cuddle him, or sit on his lap, or play with him whenever I wanted. One day, I was upset and he took both my hands and kissed them to make up. This still brings tears to my eyes.

To be a pro Make-up artist and own a school.

Somewhere in Australia and maybe doing some make up related business.

Ah! My kids’ outstanding performance in school is my biggest achievement.

Who inspires you?

My children

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

“I’m not giving up, I’m just starting over”

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?
