I hope y’all enjoyed yesterday’s post My Top 5 Beauty Finds Under £5…  which was a little reminder that we don’t need to spend an eye-watering amount on topping up our cosmetic collections, especially with drug stores shelves packed full of quality products that’s so easy on the purse strings! Yep, clarification ladies that we can all enjoy creating gorgeous new looks that won’t break the bank *energetic air punch*

However back to our usual fun filled Behind The Blog feature today as I have thee stunning Taylor (or Tay as she also likes to be known) joining me on the virtual sofa this morning for a peek behind the scenes of Tay’s Life Unscripted. As an avid YouTuber, Taylor is definitely the girl to keep up with as she treats us to a variety of beauty related shenanigans. What inspired you to start blogging?

I began blogging in order to take my mind off of a very stressful job. It slowly began to become my escape from the hectic reality that was my life. My life slowly began to slow down, but I just couldn’t stop blogging then. I always say I caught the bloggin’ bug. J  I’ve formed a family away from my family online. I love and cherish each one of my online friends. Their blogs and sweet comments always make my day that much brighter.

 . 

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

When I first started my blog, I didn’t want to pen it with Taylor. I wanted something that sounded short and fun, hence where “Tay” came from. The “life unscripted” came about because I didn’t want to create a title for my blog that trapped in a corner content wise. If you name your blog “beauty with tay” or “cooking with tay” then people automatically assume that you’re a beauty or cooking blog.  I didn’t want that. “Tay’s Life Unscripted” gives me freedom to write about all the randomness that I choose, because I let you know right in the name that it’s unscripted. Lol.

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

I suffer with Blogger’s Block on occasion. If that dreaded block strikes, then I simply sit and look around at all the items. I am found to find a blog topic lurking somewhere amongst all of my things.

What’s your favourite post to date?

My favourite post to date has to be my Birthday Haul from last year. I was so overjoyed to try Lorac for the first time. Who would’ve thought that it began a huge LOVE for the brand. It was also my first BIG haul. I was so excited to finally have high end items that other YouTubers talked about all the time.

Describe your everyday clothes style:

Classic. You will always find me in pearls and in a red lip. Sometimes you’ll even catch me in my red pumps…if your lucky. 😉

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

I love to scroll through my reader on my WordPress app and on Bloglovin’. After that, I’ll usually relax on the couch and watch Big Bang Theory. I’ve almost memorized all the seasons. I might have an obsession. Lol.

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

My ideal Saturday would be going to dinner with my closest friends, then strolling over to Ulta or Sephora. Sometimes we even do “normal” 20 year old things like hit up a bar.

What do you do to relax?

My favourite way to relax begins with a good pamper session. I put my favourite mask on then lay up on the couch to cuddle with my cat, Zazzles. And of course, I’m watching Big Bang Theory. I’ll finish up the night with a glass of wine and a bubble bath.

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

My worst bad habit would be biting my nails. I can usually control myself, but every once in a while I get so nervous or bored that I just bite them.

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

My most cherished childhood memory would have to be cooking with my grandmother. She was an EXCELLENT cook. She refused to use anything from a can or box, so she taught me the old fashioned way to do everything.

What was your favourite school subject?

Science has always been my absolute favourite. I love learning about the way things work and the process behind what makes it work.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is to be a corporate trainer in the multifamily industry. I love teaching and I LOVE this industry. The great thing about the trainer is that they get to travel a lot, but they get to come home every week. This would be a dream come true for me. Also, I want to have my own lipstick line one day. You know I had to throw that in there since I’m obsessed with red lipsticks.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself in the corporate office of a multifamily management company, whether it’s as a trainer or a regional.

Travel to the UK.

Travel to California

Travel to New York

Move to Atlanta

Take a Road Trip across the US

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

My biggest achievement has been becoming an Assistant Property Manager at the age of 22. I didn’t realize it was so rare until I went to a business trip several weeks ago. I was the youngest assistant manager out of all of them.

Who inspires you?

All of my friends inspire me. They are the biggest encouragers in my life. They push me to do things I never thought I was capable of completing.

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

I would choose a blog name that’s broad that way you can change up your content. Be consistent in blogging. Take good quality photos. Be genuine in your writing. Don’t feed people reviews that you think they want to hear.
