For as long as I can remember I’ve always been one for a sprinkle of sparkle but when it’s combined with my favourite pinky rose-gold tones it’s destined to be a winner. So when I spotted this rather sassy looking glitter polish from Maybelline Colour Show I just knew I HAD to have it… you know, one of those moments when your shopping list is all but forgotten whilst you ‘Ooooh & Aaaah’ over a delicious unexpected new find? Yep, it was one of those. In fact, I’ve had quite a few of those moments in the past but a majority of the time the products I’ve ended up cooing over haven’t quite lived up to the same excited expectations once I’m back home testing. However from the very first brush stroke of this shimmery chic polish I fell head over heels in love ❤
At a mere £2.99 it’s an absolute bargain & I personally haven’t stumbled across another glitter varnish quite as beautiful. At first glance the name ‘Pink Party Dress’ kind of took me back as it seemed much more coppery in the bottle, however on application the warm pink tones subtly shine through to create a playful champagne sparkle on the nail.
The formula isn’t too thick or gloopy (like many of sparkle polishes can be) and it’s totally build-able from the first stroke. Considering that it boasts a super fast 60 second drying time you’ll not be left for wafting your hands in frustration whilst the minutes pass by.
The glitter itself is quite small but the coverage is certainly impressive… maybe it’s just me, but with a few of my other glitter polishes I tend to have to really try and smoother the brush with glittler to ensure the nail gets treated to punchy layer of sparkle. With this polish, it’s bling from the moment you unscrew the lid.
Perfect as a sassy top coat, it’s easily layered over your favourite nude colour or instead just jump right in to build it up to create an eye-catching all over sparkle. Whatever your preference it’s definitely one to add to your wish list as the perfect addition to dress up your digits this autumn.
Have you tried the Maybelline Colour Show polishes? What’s your favourite nail colour for autumn? Whatever your thoughts do let me know in the comments below!
Cheerio Chums…

Lol! That forgotten list keeps on happening to me whenever I pass by the Nail Polish eye. As in I’m taking all my time staring at it, admiring. Passes by again for the nth time until I finally convince myself how badly I need it. ;D
I’m an all Sparkle, all that Glitter and Jazz girl also. Good thing it’s a Maybelline, I wouldn’t have a problem finding it.

I swear by these nail polishes! I own far too many and always find myself gravitating towards them whenever I stop off in Superdrug for other things and 8/10 times I leave with new one to add to my collection. I recently bought a beautiful red glittery one which I am loving right now and is perfect for the changing seasons as my nails are sometimes the only way I inject colour in my wardrobe haha! xx

I’m very much with you on that Sophie – I’m always a little intimidated by strong colours but I find nail polish is a great way to add a bit of colour without feel too uncomfortable lol Ooooh that red one sounds gorgeous… shall have to keep an eye out for something like that! I do love a sparkly red, always reminds me of Dorothy’s shoes from The Wizard of Oz 😀 xo

This is so pretty! I’m in love with the colour! I’ve not really tried any of the Maybelline polishes before, I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for this lovely shade! I love glittery polishes like that but I can never face the hassle of taking it off 😦

It really is a stunner huni, and funnily enough my first Maybelline polish too – very impressed!!
I totally get you with the hassle off taking them off but this one is so gorgeous I’m prepared to put up with the hassle lol
If you gently file it down it helps it come off a little easier!! 😉 Hope you have a super weekend lovely – great to get a wee chat with you XX

No probs huni!! It’s also good to put a nude base coat beneath too… I find it help the glitter polish from sticking to the nail bed… just makes life a tad easier lol Thanks so much lovely 😀 XXXXX

It’s not anywhere near as bad a few of my others but then I usually gently file it down first and then go in with the acetone! Makes life sooo much easier 😉 It’s such a gorgeous colour though I don’t mind the hassle one bit lol XXXX

I’m actually really surprised Mil at how easy this one has been to take off. Though I do tend to put a nude base coat underneath and find that really helps it come off much easier – if it’s really stubborn I’ll file it down a little 😉 Oooh must check out the Essie one… sounds beeeeautiful! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend too huni *huge hugs* XXX

Greys, lavender, dark purple and dark greens are my go to nail polishes for A/W seaon. Rose gold seems a little too festive for me at the moment. Oh, that’s an idea for Christmas time 🙂
