The Make Up Menu: Summer Time Pinks

Summer Time Pinks Makeup Menu

Whenever I think of summer time I think hot pink nail polish, flip flops & wafts of coconut scented sun cream lotion… ahhh the sights, sounds & scents of summer! Having a recent rummage around my own beauty goodies, I thought I’d put together a summer inspired look with a selection of my current pink-toned staples to create a bright & cheery finish to my typically pale complexion. Here’s the menu ladies…

N0 7 Beautifully Matte – having been persuaded by the sales lady at the No 7 counter a few weeks ago that this would put right to any horrid reflective/oily patches, I left the store feeling somewhat sceptical if I’d merely been reeled in by a good sales pitch on a Friday afternoon. Low and behold since then I’ve been sooo darn impressed with how well my skin has taken to this Matte Formula Foundation – made specifically for us oily pored gals.  This is without a doubt my must-have summer foundation of 2015!

Rimmel Sun Shimmer – This is one bronzer no make-up collection should be without. The beautifully buildable warm tone allows you to softly add as much (or little) sun kissed glow as you feel your complexion needs. *Click Here* to catch up on my recent review of it in more detail!

Rimmel Stay Blushed in Pop of Pink – No pretty-in-pink complexion would be complete without a smidgen of soft pink blush to brighten up the apples of the cheeks. Rimmel’s Stay Blushed gives me such a subtle but healthy glow and with the right bronzer can look incredibly revitalising & dewy.

Urban Decay Naked 3  – Surprise, surprise ladies. Like you haven’t seen this before on Confetti & Curves, right?! 😉 Y’all know by now how much of an eye-shadow hoarder I am, yet the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette is ALWAYS my go to choice when I really want my eye’s to look their brightest. The Naked 3 selection of beautiful rose coloured shades is the perfect summery look for my pink themed transformation. Today I’m using Strange, Limit, Nooner & a light layer of trick on the bottom lash line for a hint of rose gold. I love it ❤

L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes in Deep Sapphire Blue – Only that my darling little sister passed this onto me I don’t think I’d ever have bought a blue mascara. In fact I’m usually found scanning the drug store shelves for the blackest of black mascara’s – avoiding colour at all cost! However seeing as it comes with the intent on brightening blue eyes I thought I’d give it a go. Rather impressed ladies I have to say. It has such a subtle hue of blue yet makes the colour of my eyes that tiny bit more striking. Thanks sis!

Barry M Bold White Liner Pencil – This is the most recent addition to my growing cosmetic collection. Having read about how beneficial a white liner can be for brightening up the eye’s I thought I’d give this one a go. So far it’s taking a little getting used to but it does enhance the colour ever so slightly. Have you tried a white liner yet?

Barry M Brow Kit – One of favourite investments this year… yes, it’s that impressive! This super-affordable little kit has worked wonders in shaping and contouring my bushy brows into some sort of neat and well-groomed order. The packaging is pretty chic looking too… well done Barry M, an all round winner!

Rimmel Apocalips – C’mon it’s my ‘Summer Time Pink’ edition, what else could I possibly choose to give a brighter flash of fuschia than this shocking shade? I must admit, bright lip colours usually unnerve me but seeing as the sun is shinning & my sunglasses are beaconing to be worn I couldn’t resist glamming up with this sassy summer shade.

So there you have it gal’s my Pink Edition Make Up Menu. What y’all think? Are you a lover of pink? What’s your favourite shade for the summer? As always let me know in the comments below – otherwise don’t forget to say a quick hello 🙂

Happy Monday Chums…

  1. I’ve heard a lot of good things about that No 7 foundation – must give it a go. Love the lip colour on you, Karen, but I just hate myself with a bright lip, so that’s one I will be giving a miss! x

    • I have to say Caroline I’m really impressed with it – it’s a good one for the summer as my skin tends to get more oily this time of year so just helps keep everything from sliding off lol Oh I’m with you on the lip colour, I very rarely wear anything bright – in fact I’m a huge fan of balms, but thought I’d give this a try. Fun colour – though couldn’t wear it everyday 😀 XX

    • Thanks so much huni, that’s very lovely of you to say 🙂 Oh gosh I’ve had that since I was about 16, at 33 you’d think I’d have outgrown it right?! lol Thanks so much, glad you like it. Yep, I’m a huuuuge fan of the Naked 3 too – such a stunning range of colours 🙂 ❤ XXXX

  2. This is such a beautiful look on you! That mascara really is amazing. You can barely notice the blue. 🙂
Apocolips and I are currently having a love affair. I bought two the other day since they were on sale and I am really enjoying them. I hope you are having a wonderful start to your week, Karen! 😀 xxx

  3. I love your lip color! You look absolutely stunning Karen! You make me want the Naked 3 palette even more now! 😀 I’ve thought about trying a colored mascara for myself. If I get a blue one then my eyes will look more blue. They go back and forth from green to blue all the time depending on what I wear or maybe my mood, who knows lol. You such beautiful eyes though! Lovely post as always!! I hope you’re having a great Monday! ❤ ❤ *hugs* XXXXX PS. I also nominated you for the Beauty Blogger Award!

Honestly you’d absolutely LOVE the NK 3 palette – it’s just so lovely, the colours are beautiful 🙂 I have to say I’ve never been a fan of coloured mascara’s Katie but honestly I’m really liking this one as it’s such a subtle hint of deep blue so it’s really complimentary! Pretty impressed with L’Oreal, such a great range of products – if you see this on offer do pick it up as I think you might like it & you have such beautiful eyes so I’m sure they’d really enhance the colour 🙂 Thanks for such a lovely comment as always huni – you really are such a gem ❤ Always so encouraging!!!!! • You’re very welcome lovely Karen! 😀 I am thinking when I buy a Naked palette I just might get the Naked 3 first and work backwards lol. I will be on the look out for that mascara. I think I might have to make a trip to Ulta this week since they’re is 40% off on L’Oreal and a few other nice drugstore makeup brands. So it should be very reasonably priced then! You know I just love your blog and of course getting to chat with you is always so nice!! Chatting with all you lovely ladies on WordPress is pretty much the extent of my social life right now lol. I have only a couple of award posts posted. I still have decided what to post this week. I’ve just been a bum lately lol. Of course you deserve to be nominated along with many awards!! ❤ ❤ *hugs* XXXXXX

      • This made me smile soooooo much 😀 Thank you Katie – you really are so darn encouraging ❤ Happy Ulta shopping! Good plan with the Naked Palettes… working backwards is just as good as forwards in my opinion lol the 3rd one is beeeaut – you will love it Katie!!! Glad us blog chums help you through the day – it can't be easy for you at the moment, I'm sure it's very frustrating being cooped up with the heat and your health issues. Sending you huge hugs, wish I was there to pop over and keep you company…. oh the laughs we would have lol XXXX

      • Glad I could make you smile! 🙂 You’re very welcome Karen! Yeah hopefully it won’t be too unbearable going out in the heat tomorrow. I will be bringing some bottled water with me to keep hydrated. Even though I’ve mostly been inside I feel dehydrated still. I need to increase my water intake. It would be great for you to come over for a visit! I think that would be so much fun! 🙂 I was just thinking to myself that I wish I had a girl friend to go see the new Magic Mike movie with. Ron wouldn’t want to see that lol. XXXX
