If you’re new to Confetti & Curves *friendly wave* & not entirely sure what this blog shenanigans is all about then *click here* to bring yourself up to speed – you may even find yourself getting involved. Why the heck not?!

Today’s hot blogger joining me on the virtual sofa of sassiness, is the rather talented, witty & darn right lovely Alice from Strange Made Me. She really is a top blog-buddy who never fails to make us all ‘lol’ with her witty sense of humour & giggle-inducing posts… plus, any gal who’s a secret 2 am dancer that nobody supposedly knows about, shall always get my vote of support *enthusiastic air-punch* 😉

As usual: grab your cuppa, nestle down in your comfiest chair as you get to meet the girl Behind The Blog

Alice

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

Er, beauty, pretty-things, cake, babbling… I never know how to answer this!

 .

What inspired you to start blogging?

I needed to do something, I was stuck with a job I hated, post uni blues… it seemed like a brilliant way to get to know other like-minded people whilst creating my own little corner on the internet where I could unwind.

 .

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

Someone I used to know had the game tag ‘strange mad me’ and I misread it as ‘strange made me’, it’s something that has stuck in the back of my mind for years. It suits me, I’m very strange…

 .

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

I do. Usually if I’ve been sucked into work or other things, I find it really hard to unwind and get back into blogging. You can usually tell when I’ve had bloggers block, to me my posts don’t read how they normally do. I carry a notebook and jot down ideas, when I’m on a blogging roll I save posts so I can use them if I can’t face posting in the future… if I pressure myself to post it makes it worse. So stepping back and taking a breather does me some good!

 .

What’s your favourite post to date?

My Rimmel London Wake Me Up vs Match Perfection post.
http://strangemademe.com/2015/02/27/foundation-thoughts-rimmel-match-perfection-or-wake-me-up/

 .

Describe your everyday clothes style:

Er, I’m not sure how! It depends how I feel. Pirate, gothic inspired, primark plain Jane stuff, someone once said I had a very eccentric dress sense, I guess that’s a compliment? At the moment all I seem to wear are my work clothes! Ambulance greens and a navy polo shirt!

 .

What are your current top 3 beauty items?

Lollipops ‘close your eyes, go dancing’ black eyeliner, Collection concealer and Toni&Guy’s Classic hair gloss serum. ❤

 .

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

The hottest bath I can stand, a good book, candles and a good ol’ Lush bath bomb. Currently fluffy egg is my favourite, just sniffing that makes my head less tense.

 .

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

Pizza, pizza… pizza… and Vikings (the TV show, but if Rollo Lothbrok would like to come and spend Saturday night with me, that’s cool)!

 .

What do you do to relax?

I write, listen to music… draw… that kind of thing.

 .

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

I chew the heck out of my lips when I’m stressed or really thinking. Singing when I’m driving, having to walk an even number of steps…

 .

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

I have so many! Every year my parents would take us on holiday with my cousin Lee, we’d usually go camping, but they were the best holidays ever.

 .

What was your favourite school subject?

Art and English, history/archaeology at A-level.

.

What’s your dream job?

I wanted to be an archaeologist and I had my heart set on that for ages, but now I just don’t know. I’d love to be a writer, but as long as I enjoy what I do I don’t think I really mind.

.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Anywhere but here! I want a sky blue mini cooper, a waffle maker and to be doing something I don’t mind getting out of bed at 5am for.

.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

To sail on a Viking Longboat, see the pyramids, meet Paloma Faith, learn to play the guitar and go to Universal studios’ Harry Potter World.

.

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

I don’t know, I have that awkward personality trait where you never feel accomplished or proud, everything you do just is what it is. I never feel like I’ve achieved anything, I could climb Everest and I wouldn’t feel a sense of achievement. I used to dance, I danced at the theatre quite a few times, and I once had a poem published in a book? Maybe they count!

.

Who inspires you?

Paloma Faith, Helena Bonham Carter, Sir Terry Pratchet… a huge list I won’t spam you with.

.

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those that matter don’t mind” Dr Seus.

.

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

Do it for you and no one else. If you’re only doing it to be like someone else it will never work out. If you blog about what YOU like, and what YOU’RE interested in, you’ll be fine.
