Ask Me Anything – Part 1…

Hey Beauty Buddies…

Last week I prepared to bare my soul as I invited you beautiful bunch to literally ask me anything your heart desired! Well it’s finally here – part one (yes, part one) of my Ask Me Anything video… where I tackle as many of your questions as possible, without turning it into a feature length film *dramatic eye roll*

A huuuge thanks to all my blog buddies for getting involved & asking such a colourful range of fun questions that I’ve had such a blast answering. If your question hasn’t featured this time I promise it will in part two, so hang in there I’ll get round to it! Don’t forget to check out all the lovely bloggers I’ve mentioned – they really are a super bunch…

Time to grab that cuppa & make yourself comfy! Hope y’all enjoy 🙂

  2. Thank you for your awesome answers!! I as well am very sensitive and a worrier aka anxious. Oh boy am I ever! We have lots of similar traits Karen! I remember we were chatting about that it’s hard to decipher someone’s tone when writing a response, email, etc. it sometimes helps when you know the other persons personality. We both have a sarcastic sense of humor. And yay for your DIYs. You’re very creative indeed!! I love your owl pillow in the background. Does he have a name? I was thinking that it would be so cool if you did a tag with your hubby and sis 🙂 xoxo

    • Awwh you’re so welcome 🙂 Yes, we really are very similiar in many of our ways which is lovely cause we understand each others traits! It’s so hard to read someone online but I think we know enough to know that we’d never intentionally upset each other through our jokeyness (if that’s a word lol)
Oh yes that’s Owlivia in the background… my brother bought it for me and I love it soooo much 😀 Comfiest pillow ever lol Maybe one day I can persuade Steve to get on camera haha XXX

You really are one of the most supportive chums I could have wished to met online, always so darn encouraging!!! I’m so glad you’re looking forward to part 2… I’m hoping to try and keep it much shorter. So hard when trying to answer all the questions lol
Why thank you so much, I think I’m wearing Rimmel 25 hour foundation & my Naked 3 palette. I bought the Naked 2 for my sister for her birthday along with a MAC Ruby Woo… Oh Katie you would LOVE the Naked 2. It’s beautiful! I reeeeeally want it!! lol Hope all is going well with you too lovely – sending huge big hugs your way XXXXXXX

      • Well it’s so easy to make kind comments about you Karen! 😉 You’re definitely one of my best blogging buddies! I am so glad to have met you too! You always leave such lovely comments on my posts and you’re very supportive of me and many others. ❤ 🙂
I need to try that Rimmel 25 hour foundation sometime! You're such a nice sister to buy your sister the Naked 2 palette and MAC's Ruby Woo! You haven't even bought yourself a MAC lippy yet have you? I really want all 3 of the Naked palettes! Lol! Like I said though, I will start with 1 and then so on haha!
I am doing all right thank you. I wasn't feeling too well today. I just felt overly tired and am hoping to sleep much better tonight. I had plans to get up early tomorrow for an early lunch but luckily its been moved and I can sleep in! lol.
        Sending back huge hugs!! XXXXXXX

      • Awwwh Katie – you really are a gem! I’m so thankful our paths crossed here online ❤ You really should try the Rimmel, I have to say I love it – but in order for it to really work I have to use a good moisturiser below instead of a primer. Could be my temperamental skin lol
I know – I cannot believe I was in the MAC store and didn't buy one for me!!! lol But I had spent so much I knew I'd have to hold on for a bit, though the girl was incredibly lovely & showed me a few testers of lippies that are along the same tone as velvet teddy. I never knew MAC lippies smelt so amazing – they are beautiful 🙂
Oh poor you 😦 I hope you are feeling much better now huni and that you get some more rest!!!!! ❤ XXXXXXXXX

        Liked by 1 person

      • I will try the Rimmel the next time I go to try another foundation. I just don’t want to end up with too many foundations lying around lol. I brought my NYX Matte But Not Flat with me and I have really been liking that one. I also want to try the L’Oreal Infalliable one too. Ah so many options! Lol!
Well at least you got to check some of the MAC lipstick out. They do smell really good! That’s one of my very things about them.
I have finally caught up on sleep today though I feel bad that I had to cancel some plans with a friend. I just wouldn’t have been great company with how I’ve been feeling. Luckily my plans for tomorrow aren’t until the evening so I can take plenty of more time to rest up! ❤

      • I know what you mean Katie – I’m trying to contain the want to splurge on other foundations at the moment too… no point in having half empty bottles of stuff lying all over the place lol
Yes, the Mac Lippies smell aaaaahhmmazing! Talking of which I’m just about to head over to Plus Beauty to catch up on what I missed out on as I believe there’s a MAC of the month post up at the moment *woo hoo* 😀
sorry to hear you haven’t been well at all – you done the right thing cancelling, otherwise it wouldn’t have been fun for anyone 😦 I’ve had a horrid headache for the last few days so haven’t been reading as many posts – need to catch up on what I’ve missed out on now it’s finally lifted lol Have a lovely weekend huni XXXXX

      • Sorry to hear about your headache Karen. That’s no fun at all. I don’t blame you for not wanting to read much. Luckily I don’t have to get ready for a while because I’m feeling so lazy right now and tired. I just may take a nap lol. We’ll see!
I hope that you will enjoy the MAC post! It’s a triple feature! 😉 Normally I only do one at a time but then I splurged and bought 2 and then a 3rd was gifted to me lol. 😀
Yeah it was good that I cancelled because I wouldn’t have been very fun to be around. I hope that you’re feeling better and that you’re headache is gone. I hope you have a lovely weekend as well!! ❤ ❤ XXXXXX

      • A nap sounds like a great plan Katie!! I’m sure you could be doing with it if you’re feeling very lethargic!!
Oh I’ve just checked out the MAC post and I love it – you’re such a lucky duck owning those beauties 😀
Awwh thank you so much for the well wishes, I am feeling a little bit better – had to wear my sun glasses most of the week even though it’s not been that sunny lol My eyes hurt so much because of the natural day light – honestly I’m like an extra from Twilight hahaha XXXXXX

        Liked by 1 person

      • Well I never ended up taking a nap lol. Instead I went out and did some shopping with my Mom which is always fun. 🙂
I am so glad that you love the MAC post! I really think you should just give in and get yourself a MAC lipstick! You totally deserve it! Heck I’d buy you one if we lived close lol.
Glad to hear that you’re feeling better! I know what you mean about natural daylight. I think it has something to do with having such light colored eyes that our eyes are sensitive to the daylight. I am that way too. Btw, I loved the Twilight movies!! 😀 lol XXXXXX

      • Awwh glad you have a nice time shopping with your mum! Yes, I loved the MAC post huni, it was fantastic 🙂 So glad you got another 3 of them – your collection must be growing now! I really should just give in lol Awwh you’re too sweet with the MAC treat haaaa ❤
I think you could be right – maybe it is our light coloured eyes causing the problems *sigh* 🙂 XXXXXX

      • Yeah my collection is up to 11 in total now lol. I have my eye on either Pink Plaid or Vegas Volt next…lol. I can only pick one this next time though! I keep my MAC lipstick in an acrylic lipstick holder since they’re special and cost more lol. I still can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with for your makeup storage. I need to do something about mine!
        *sigh* #lightcoloredeye problems 🙂 XXXXXXX

      • lol I love the preferential treat for the MAC lippies… that’s exactly something I would do too Katie! They get the penthouse of makeup storage lol Oooh yes, I’m sooo looking forward to doing that too – just need to get a few more bits this coming week and I should be all good to go!! *woo hoo* lol Xxxxx

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yes the MAC lippies get the best treatment!! As would any other lipstick that comes at a higher price. I would love to try the NARS Audacious lipsticks or the Charlotte Tilbury ones but they’re so so expensive! I plan on trying the Tarte Butter lipsticks soon though. Such a wishlist I have lol. Xxxxx

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oh I’d love to try the Charlotte Tilbury range too – they look amazing & the reviews are incredible… same with Tom Ford but that’s a little beyond my budget for the time being lol Oh your wish list is growing as quick as mine Katie hahaha XXX

      • I wish they would bring them down in price but that’s never going to happen! Lol! I think Ron would kill me if he knew I ever spent like $30-$50 on lipstick! Maybe I can splurge once for my birthday or Christmas or something hahaha XXX

Thank you so much for answering my question hun and the way you said my name, wow 😀 How exotic it sounded, loved it ❤
I am a very routine kind of girl as well, sadly life get to through lot of curveballs at me, lol, but still love routine as much as I can. I do like the blocks of time that you use, I try to do that as well and it helps a lot with my planning.
Thank you hun again, for taking the time to answer my questions ❤

It was such a pleasure answering your question huni, and I’m glad I said your name so exotically haha Though I’m pretty sure I said it wrong – I’m so sorry if I did!!!
Sounds like we are very similar Galit, i’ve had to dodge a few curve balls in life myself but I always take the view of what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger… I’m sure we’re towers of strength for our experiences 😀
Thanks for watching, being so encouraging and just being you!! Your support means so much lovely lady ❤ *hugs* XXXXX

  6. ok, it’s later and I’m home and got to watch the video. I thought it was excellent. I can really sense your sincerity and integrity as I watched and listened. It really is amazing to be able to read your posts and chat here and there but then get a chance to see you and hear you. BTW, I love your accent. It’s so beautiful. Also, your eyes are so blue and expressive. I have an American accent and I don’t think people find it as charming. =( I truly enjoyed watching and listening.

And you are probably getting to know me a bit, I usually keep everything pretty light as I’m rather whimsical but behind the laptop here, I’m actually quite serious at times. As I’ve gotten into blogging, I can be concentrating so much I don’t hear a question being asked of me (Bad mommy!) I could totally relate to you when you said you are a worrier (I am too!) and sensitive. Same here! I always read something and think there was some other message or something negative. Maybe I might feel I said something that upset someone and I didn’t mean to. Most of all, I’m a terribly anxious worrier.

OK, I’ll stop rambling and just end my note by saying thank you for putting yourself out there and doing this. It was so natural – I wish I could do that but I don’t think I could. Maybe in the future I could but at this juncture I’m just getting over my camera shyness. I have NEVER let anyone take photos of me let alone share them. OMG. So, I’m only passing through insecurity gate 1 and maybe one day I’ll have the confidence to do a video.

I loved it! You look beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this and putting this together. I’m now giving you a big hug and I have say congratulations as well. You have really created something special. Lots of love to you. – Janine XO

    • Awwwh Janine – your comment has warmed my heart so soooo much. I was reading down it like I was listening to an old friend chat that I’ve known for years! Isn’t it amazing how although many of us have never met (and may not ever) that we can find such strong similarities… I find that one of the most encouraging things about social media & blogging – it brings so many like minded people together!! Gosh we really do sound very similar in our approaches to how we handle anxiety – for me I don’t do it so well & crumble very quickly. This really frustrates me. It often surprises other people as I’m quite a chatty & often dry humoured kinda gal so having a bit of banter is something I enjoy… but when I divulge to others how fragile I can be it almost begs belief lol.
I’m so glad you’re working on your camera phobia – I was very much like that too, but in an odd way I find blogging begins to give you the confidence to push boundaries. 8 months ago I would have never put a picture of me on a blog… now I’m chatting to a camera lol It really does give you the boost so you will probably find in your own time it will start to feel alot more comfortable. Plus, you’re a stunning gal so you’ve nothing to be insecure whatsoever about!!! Thank you again for such a lovely comment – you have made my day with your kind words *huge hugs* 🙂 XXXXXXXXX

Ps: American accents rock – fancy an accent swap?!?! lol X

      Liked by 1 person

      • I’ll swap accents any day! I can tell in the US if someone is from the East Coast or Mid West, South, etc. There are very distinct sounds and terms they use but I’m from the west coast so to me they all have accents and I don’t. Yet, I know they hear an accent from me and not themselves. LOL. But the English are so elegant and classy. Mine is probably like a howling dog! LOL

Since I started my blog (almost 2 months since it went live), I’ve been so happy with all the amazing people I get to talk with…. from ALL over the world. Not to mention the support and camaraderie. It was exactly what I hoped for when I started. However, it is a time investment for sure. My house is fast asleep and I’m out here pounding away but it’s because I want to. I’m so fortunate to be connecting with such amazing women.

The anxiety. It’s a killer isn’t it? I will worry for days over things that don’t even matter. For example, and this going to sound nuts…does anyone at work know I have a blog? Did they look at it? Are they making fun of it? I’ll worry over all kinds of crazy things. Should I have said something different? What did he mean by that? Was there a hidden insult in that comment? And then I obsess. (oh… my poor hubby has to listen to me all the time).

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I couldn’t from my phone for some reason. WP mobile randomly let me respond. (very nice). So, I had to wait until I was on my laptop. =)

      • That’s wonderful that you’re getting to meet so many lovely people 😀 That’s one of the things I love about blogging… how it connects us with so many like-minded folk 🙂 And yes I’m sooooo familiar with the late nights – heck it’s almost 1:30 am here lol
Awwh I completely understand what it’s like to have those anxieties – although the mind is rationalising them it still doesn’t stem the reaction to the anxiousness! Trust me, I get those very same things all the time & everyday, it’s exhausting! Unfortunately there’s no fast fix… just meds & a great therapist I’m afraid!! But hey… at least we’re not alone! So next time your mind is whiring with all those anxious & obsessive niggles just think I’m right here going through it with you huni! 🙂 XXXXX

  7. Great and sincere post Karen! I think I can totally relate to you on the sensitivity/compassion part. I love to help people-sometimes a bit too much where I give it my all and sadly it’s not reciprocated. Of course I don’t help because I expect something in return but you know, people have a way of taking advantage of you and making you feel small afterwards. I’m getting better at seeing which people are like that though and won’t let that change me but rather be smarter about who I help. I also find myself sometimes rereading comments and making sure they are worded correctly. Can’t wait to see part two! 🙂

    • Awwh Stephie thank you so much – not just for taking the time to watch but for your kind comment too. It’s amazing how alike so many of us are with our traits!! I know exactly what you mean in terms of the reciprocation – been there worn the tee-shirt 😦 However like you it’s not for wanting it returned but just the fact that it feels like you are only on tap when needed and forgotten about when the going is good. Well, that’s how it is for me sometimes and it’s very hurtful when you put your all into helping others that may only take it all for granted. My gran always said ‘you can forgive but you can never forget’. I find her words so true, a bitter truth to swallow.
Looking forward to posting part two too!!! lol So many too’s & two’s 😀 Thank you soooo very much for all your support – you really are a star *huge hugs* XXXXXX

      • Yes. It’s funny because I didn’t actually watch the video but listened to it while I was driving, lol. You have to multitask when you can. But as I was listening, I was thinking the same thing in that we are similar in certain aspects. Yes, it can be hurtful and I feel like I have had my share of bad luck these past few years. However, they are lessons to be learned if we bother to really look at them, however painful they may be. Yes you can forgive but you can’t forget- not when it left a deep scar. I look forward to your second post next week! You’re so welcome. I feel so comfortable talking to you because I identify with you and feel we are similar in certain aspects. Thanks for all you do! 🙂

We certainly do think very alike indeed Stephie – and you’re right, they’re lessons to be learned 🙂 I feel very comfy talking to you too! I think it’s that ability to identify with someone who is very similar (even though we haven’t actually met lol) You just know you”d get on so well in real life if that were the case ❤
Looking forward to making next weeks video too huni!! Thanks for being such a great blog buddy – means so much XXXX

Don’t know if it’s too late to ask questions but I have one for you.
Do you ever have days where you need to write a blog post or make a video but lack the motivation to do it or else don’t have any ideas? If so, how do you overcome these slumps?
Okay, I lied, that’s two questions for you XD

Anyway, keep up the great work!
