Behind The Blog… featuring Danielle from Danners World

Danners World

Hey Beauty Buddies…

Well I’m super excited this morning, not just because I have another gorgeous blogger to introduce y’all to, but also because she’s a little bit closer to home for a change! Ladies meet Danielle from Danners World… the fun, friendly & ever optimistic gal from Monaghan in Ireland. Not only is she an avid beauty lover (like so many of us) she’s also not afraid to tackle some of the more personal issues on her blog such as mental health & depression – something that so many of us struggle with in day-to-day life but very rarely feel comfortable sharing with others. As her current battle with depression is ongoing, Danielle shares’ her inspiring journey through her blog posts – something I find incredibly brave & refreshing.

If you haven’t already checked out Danielle’s inspirational blog then do make it your mission to stop by & say a quick hello. She really is such a lovely gal who deserves so much support for all the wonderful posts she’s put her personality & passion into!

You know the drill by now ladies: grab a cuppa & get comfy as you prepare to meet the girl Behind The Blog…

Danielle Danners World

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

Hope, laughter, honesty and personality.

 .

What inspired you to start blogging?

I wanted to share my journey on living with depression with others, to offer them some hope, which soon developed into talking about all things life, beauty and mental health related!

 .

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

‘Danners World’ I wanted to keep it simple but true to myself. With Danners being my nickname for as long as I can remember it just seemed to fit that it would be like a little welcoming into my world and how I see things.

 .

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

Yes definitely. It is sometimes very hard to get out of it at stages but I feel like we have inspiration all around us, everyday. It is just about finding something that you know you can relate to and finding something you are passionate about. Sometimes we just need to take a step back, have a break and think about what we love and the ideas will just flow through.

 .

What’s your favourite post to date?

Hmmm this is a tough one, my blog posts are like my children. It is a toss up but I think ‘My imaginary dinner party’ is definitely a favourite of mine simply just because I loved writing it and I think it tells a lot about a person and what they are interested in if you ask them what guests dead or alive they would invite to a dinner party!

 .

Describe your everyday clothes style:

An average day would probably consist of a leather jacket/big coat, a statement scarf, some plain coloured jeans preferably white and a black boot.

 .

What are your current top 3 beauty items?

Wake Me Up Concealer by Rimmel,

MAC Pro Longwear Foundation,

L’Oreal False Lash Superstar Mascara.

 .

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

Nothing is more relaxing then a lovely hot bath with some candles burning alongside some nice smelling insence and then hop into clean fresh sheets in bed to catch up on some Once Upon A Time on Netflix.

 .

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

My ideal Saturday night would be a West End show followed by dinner and some delicious cocktails. Sounds perfect.

.

What do you do to relax?

When I want to relax I usually take a nice hot bath and read a book.

.

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

I can never stick at something long enough to make it work, I get bored far too easily or else I have commitment issues one or the other haha. Whether its relationships, learning musical instruments, watching new TV shows, moving schools. I wish I could stick at things longer to see what the outcome could be!

 .

What was your favourite school subject?

Music naturally enough was my favourite. I think it was the only thing that got me through school sometimes and it made me find a whole new side to myself that I didn’t know existed. I was also pretty good at languages so Irish was another favourite of mine.

 .

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is for people all over the world to hear me sing. I am not quite sure in what context I mean it in though because I know I would never want to be ‘famous’ or splashed all over magazines, websites and TV shows. I just know that singing and music is the one thing that truly makes me happy and I would love to do it everyday for the rest of my life.

.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hopefully I will have my honours degree in Event Management. I will have hopefully left Ireland and will be living in another country, preferably in London. I hope I will still be writing and that I will be happy in the choices I have made.

.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

Go to Harry Potter World.

See a show on Broadway.

Swim with Dolphins.

Sky Dive.

Visit NYC at Christmas Time.

 .

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

Starting this blog. I live in a small town with a lot of small minded people so to believe in yourself and do something like this is not something people see everyday but I have never been happier or prouder of myself.

 .

Who inspires you?

So many people inspire me everyday. People I don’t even know and have met briefly for 2 minutes inspire me to be a better person. My biggest inspiration is probably my mother just because I think the world of her and am very thankful for everything she has done for myself and my sister and for all she has achieved in her life.

 .

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

Oh I have so many. I am such a quote hoarder. ‘’Blowing out someone else’s candle won’t make yours shine any brighter.’’ Is a personal favourite of mine. It is nice to be nice.

 .

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

Know what you want to talk about and share with your readers.

Stay true to yourself.

Have faith in yourself. Believe in yourself.

Just go for it! Everything in this life is worth a shot at least once. You’ll never know if you never try!
