My Favourite Eye-look Tutorial with Urban Decay NAKED 3…

 DSC00472

Hey beauty buddies…

With the roaring success of last Mondays Makeup Menu post (thank y’all!) I thought I’d share a favourite look using one of my most cherished eye shadow palettes – the Urban Decay Naked 3. I am literally uhhhbsessed with the beautiful blush tones of this palette, simply because they work so darn well with my regularly insipid skin tone – in fact they work fab with virtually every complexion. If you already own one (congratulations you lucky little ducky!) or are tempted to treat yourself to a Naked 3 palette then you might wanna try out this simple but oh-so-pretty eye look. I’ve linked all the products just in case you fancy a quick nosey via their official web-stores too; aren’t I a thoughtful blogger?! 😉 Sitting comfy? Then let’s get started…

 .

Step 1 – Prep & Prime

 DSC00444

So to begin I’m using a teeny tiny dab of Urban Decay Sin Primer. I find this gives a beautiful soft shimmer which really helps to make the pigmentation of the eye shadow stand out & of course leaves layered up lids looking crease free & fresh all day long!

 .

Step 2 – The Brows

 DSC00446

My next step is to tame the brows using a spoolie brush, filling in any blank spaces with an eyebrow pencil and smoothing out with a Real Techniques eye liner brush. I find this elongates the brows and gives a natural but semi groomed appearance. It’s so darn easy to overdo it with the brows so remember to tread carefully, the Rupaul look doesn’t bode well for a lot of us!

Next I take a tiny bit of strange on my Urban Decay brush and lightly highlight just under the brows to give a nice sharp look that helps to define my brow line.

.

Step 3 – Blend It Out

DSC00448

Taking a Real Techniques base brush from my Nic’s Picks collection, I line along the eye crease with the colour ‘Limit’. Blend, blend, blend and when you think you’re done… blend it out some more!

.

Step 4 – Lift The Lid

 DSC00452

Next I pack the lid with ‘Burnout’ which is a beautiful blush pink with a just hint of shimmer. You may need to reapply at a later stage to help brighten up the lid & really make the colour pop… so load up your brush and get packing ladies!

.

Step 5 – Outer Corner & Under Eye

DSC00454

Taking my Real Techniques base brush I use a little bit of ‘Nooner’ to blend into the outer crease. This beautiful matte shadow gives an incredible burst of definition to the outer edges and really begins to create some depth and shape. Again it’s reeeeeally important to get your blend on girls to ensure no harsh lines & that everything mulls beautifully into a gorgeous soft ombre effect. I also pop a little bit of ‘Nooner’ under my lower lash line – this is completely optional, so if you don’t fancy creating a slightly smokier look then feel free to give the under lash a miss.

.

Step 6 – Touch the Tears

 DSC00457

Lastly using my Urban Decay basic brush I dab a tiny amount of strange around the tear ducks and out crease/lash line. I find this just brightens the corner of the eyes, making them appear bigger, brighter and beautifully blended.

.

Step 7 – Flick & Finish

 NKD look

With all my looks I love to finish it off with a small winged lash line using MUA Liquid Liner (I find the applicator the easiest of all to use). I then curl the lashes to give a little bit of lift & add a generous helping of Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara which creates a clump free, long & fluttery look.

Voila, the finished result in 7 simple steps…

 (…albeit looking a tad startled!!)

So there we have it girls, my go to look using a range of muted tones from the gorgeous Urban Decay Naked 3. Do you have this palette? What’s your go to colours? Have you something similar or is it on your current wish-list? Whatever your thoughts do stop by & let me know in the comments below, hope you’re all having a fabulous May Day jolly holi 🙂

Cheerio chums…

Thank you though 😉 I may have a hard life a bit and low on money, but I have so much love from my hubby and I enjoy writing and the blog with all the wonderful people… I guess this all keeps me smiling a lot (Well… most of the time, lol).

      • You’re so welcome! I really loved it!! Yes I think I can get that over here. I just found the website for the US that has some it looks like. I just might have to place an order lol. 😉 xxxx

      • haaaaa I knew you’d end up treating yourself 😉 hehe I got mine for £3 which I imagine is about $5 so it’s not too bad and the reviews on her glosses are great. I think you’ll like the colour range too, it’s very pretty 🙂 XXXXXX

      • I think on the website that I found them, they’re about $7 and some odd change lol. I ordered 2 of them! PIcnic in the Park and Afternoon Tea 🙂 lol. I just had to! But no more makeup purchases! I am banned for the rest of the month! Haha! I actually tend to wear gloss a lot more than lipstick because my lips are so dry so these will be a great investment. 🙂 XXXXXXXX

      • Ooh I LOVE ‘Afternoon Tea’ (I think that’s the name over here) a very pretty pink – that’s the one I’d love next 😀 Haaa you just couldn’t resist *tut tut* That’s the same as me too with the glosses – my Lipstick Tag is going up tomorrow on video and I say the very same thing on there too lol Hope you like the goodies when they arrive chum 😀 XXXXX

      • Thanks Karen! I can’t wait to try them out! Though it’s going to take 7-21 days I guess probably because they’re coming from overseas. Most of the good stuff I have coming in the mail will probably come while I’m gone and Ron will have a nice pile of packages for me to open up when I get back. That usually happens haha!
I can’t wait to see your Lipstick Tag video tomorrow! I’m really looking forward to it! 😀 XXXXX

      • Oh I know! There is always a nice pile waiting for me when I get home haha! It’s going to be like Christmas when I get back! 😀 I just never really shop in stores much. I never get out as much as I’d like so all of my treats come from online shopping. I’ve heard wonderful things about these glosses before and actually seeing you wear it confirmed it for me. 🙂 XXXXXX

      • Ooooh so exciting to rip open that pile of goodies hehe 😀 I’m still a store gal Katie – I love browsing the shelves and smelling the products or testing them on the back of my hand… this is always a give away that I’ve been beauty shopping as the back of my hand is multicoloured lol However the internet is just so handy, especially if you’re not able to get out and about as much!! Ooh I can’t wait to hear what you think of the glosses 😀 *hugs* XXXX

      • I’m very excited about it myself too!! 🙂 I would love to browse the stores myself but like you said, online shopping is nice for me since I can’t get out as much as I’d like. I can’t wait to try the glosses. Those I am so excited about!! 😀 *hugs* XXXX

    • Oh that is such a shame your 3rd palette vanished, I hope no one stole it one you – that’s just horrid to think 😦 It really is such a lovely combo of colours, I only have the Naked 2 to get & I’m complete – really looking forward to it!! 😀 Thank you so much for stopping by & I really hope your 3rd palette shows up sometime soon Xo

    • Thank you lovely lady – you always leave such encouraging comments *hugs* I don’t believe for one moment you need any practice on your wings, I’m sure you can do them perfectly huni!!!! I’m afraid the camera is being too kind as I always feel close up it looks a little wonky lol XXX

      Liked by 1 person

      • You’re welcome! And yes, believe it, lol. I haven’t done it in a while so I need practice again though I must admit tape is my favorite method as it makes it easier for me. My eyes are shaped weird for the wing (quite a few MUA agree) so I kind of have to draw the wing. Yours looks fab so no worries on it looking wonky. 😉

      • I’ve heard so many people mention the tape trick (or post it notes work well too apparently and less aggitating to remove) Awwh thank you so much once again for the kind compliments Stephie – you’ve really made my day huni 🙂 XXXX

      • It does work though I don’t use it everyday. You’re welcome! So glad I was able to help! Encouragement goes a long way and in a world where people are trying to tear others down, it’s good to lift people up. 🙂

      • Anytime Karen! Funny, Katie was telling me the same and I told her I am supportive and encouraging when it comes to others, but when it comes to me, I’m my own worst critic. Ironic huh?

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oh you know Stephie I think we’re all a bit like that huni!! In a way it’s not a bad thing – providing we’re not too harsh on ourselves of course lol You really are a supportive bunch, such a lovely community of blog buddies that are always super encouraging. We all need that 🙂 XXX
