Hey Beauty Buddies…
Today’s weird and wonderful post is courtesy of the gorgeous Kayla over at Bambi Leigh, who ever-so-thoughtfully nominated me to answer an eclectic mix of random questions otherwise know as ‘The Weird Questions TAG’. If you haven’t checked out her savvy little slice of the interweb then get yourself over pronto, she’s a super cool gal who’s incredibly funny and always managing to empty the contents of my bank account with her endless makeup recommendations. I DREAD to think of the damage we’d do on a girly shopping date!
However, back to the TAG… not being one to miss out on all the fun I simply had to take up her offer and share with you guys a few of my weirdest little quirks… honesty is always the best policy right? *sigh* 😀
Sitting comfy? Okay, lets get started…
.
Do you have a nickname that only your family use?
Yes!! As BIZARRRRRREE as this may sound my sister and I have ridiculously odd names for each other that we created whilst on holiday in our teens in Scotland many years ago… she’s Geoffrey & I’m Henry, we spent the entire holiday whittering to each other like too old posh elderly gents and ever since then it’s stuck. Ya gotta hear it to get it, but I swear it cracks us up every time and has stuck with us for years…, yes we’ve lost the friggin plot!
.
What’s a weird habit of yours?
There’s probably very little to redeem my reputation after this revelation however… when I was a little girl my grandma used to wave or salute every time she seen a magpie – it’s a bit of an old wives tale here in Ireland that if you don’t acknowledge a magpie it can bring you bad luck. Personally it hasn’t done me much good lol, but I still ain’t taking any chances… even if it does baffle random by-standers who *sometimes* discreetly wave back looking a tad confused.
.
Do you have any weird phobias?
Feet. I can’t abide them! *bluurrhg*
.
What song do you secretly love to blast out when your alone?
Oooooh I have a select few that often get cranked up in the car… this morning it was Blank Space by Taylor Swift, Born To Die by Lana Del Rey & *randomly* Caribbean Blue by Enya… it’s just one of those catchy wee tunes you never fully understand the words too but never stop trying to chant along too!
.
What’s one of your biggest pet peeves?
People who inconsiderately scrape their crumb riddled knives along the edge of the butter tub.
Wonky trolley wheels.
Folk who seem to enjoy sharing their life stories in the middle of shopping aisles.
People who steal child/parent parking spaces – just because your 28 year old son is in the passenger seat doesn’t mean you qualify!!!!!!!
I could go on & on & on…..
.
What’s one of your nervous habits?
Laughing! It’s so utterly awful but I often start tittering with nerves in tense situations, if I try to hold it in it gets 10 times worse. Mortifying!
.
What side of the bed do you sleep on?
Always the left, I’ve no idea why though when Steve’s away I usually end up on his side inhaling remnants of aftershave.
.
What was your first stuffed animal and it’s name?
It wasn’t actually a stuffed animal but a talking doll. I got it for Christmas when I was about 5 years old and adored it soooo much. He had the cutest little voice and always sounded so sleepy!
.
What’s the drink you always order atCosta?
A medium Café Caramella… I’m not a coffee drinker but a cup of this always make me happy 😀
.
What’s a beauty rule you preach but never actually practice?
Hmmm I have to say I’m pretty good at practicing what I preach when it comes to beauty rules, I genuinely can’t think of anything I rarely don’t do!!
.
Which way do you face in the shower?
Erm every way at some point or other but mostly facing away from the shower… how very odd!
.
Do you have any ‘weird’ body skills?
I can completely rotate my tongue in my mouth, usually looks a tad freaky but always ignites a chortle or two watching others trying to figure it out. I’ve also got my lip pierced so if I wanna be really gross I can squirt water through the teeny little hole – always screws up a few faces in disgust!!
.
What’s your favourite ‘bad’ comfort food that you eat anyway?
I have to say salty/sweet popcorn mix ALWAYS gets my vote… though I have been know to share a virtual bowl of Cheetos with Leah from The Pink Impact. She has me hooked 😀
.
Whats a phrase or exclamation that you always say?
Every Irish person say’s the word ‘wee’ (aka small!!!!!) to describe just about everything…
“Give us a wee minute”
“Pass us that wee pen over”
“Do ya fancy a wee dander later?”
Oddly enough, I’ve also noticed in my YT videos the word ‘handy’ coming up FAR too many times!!!!
.
It’s time to sleep – what are you ACTUALLY wearing?
Usually just a tee-shirt or nightie, however on a freezing cold night it’s PJ’s, slipper socks and a sweater (if my teeth are really chattering).
…
So there you have it ladies, my Weird Questions TAG and answers to match *face palm*
Instead of nominating anyone of you gal’s in particular I’m gonna keep this one open to all blog buddies who fancy giving it a go… why not eh?
Don’t forget to say a quick hello in the comments and as always have a super weekend whatever you’ve got planned!
Cheerio chums…
Lol I enjoyed this! I’m with you on the feet lol.😉

Love this tag,so much fun little stories. The magpie one has to be my favorite 😀
What is is with people chatting away in the grocery store: I don’t mind but why do you have to block the entire aisle while doing it?!

Haaaa glad you like it Anne, it’s such an unusual one!!! Yes, the magpie thing is very bizarre but a habit I find soooo hard to break lol Oh don’t get me started – it was grocery shopping today and again folk congregating in the middle of aisles… there’s a cafe within walking distance – wish they’d park themselves there for a while lol XXX
LikeLiked by 1 person
I love those stories though and such a lovely way to remember your grandmother.
Or just stand on the side of the aisle so people can pass, what is wrong with that?!
xxx Anne

Maybe we should give them one hour a day when they are allowed this behaviour and ban them from the supermarket the rest of the day 😉

That sounds a fair plan Anne, early hours of the morning when we’re not around or are too busy sleeping lol XXXXX

THERE’S A MAGPIE SONG?!?!?! That *may* make life a little less complicated for me and my waving every half a mile lol I had soooo much fun Kayla – thank YOU for tagging me huni *hugs* XXXXX
LikeLiked by 1 person
It’s not really a song I guess… you must have heard it?! One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy?
I don’t know where it came from but if I ever see one magpie I won’t rest until I spot another haha xxx

Oooooh yes, of course – heard it many times, another one of grans favs wee magpie related things lol Honestly the hassle these magpies are making 😀 XXX

“People who inconsiderately scrape their crumb riddled knives along the edge of the butter tub.” THIS So much. I don’t even like when people scrape excess butter back into the butter tub. Why didn’t you just grab the right amount of butter to begin with? Clearly, I am insane

We are as one V…. this distract me NO END!!!! They do it with jam & spreads too, no friggin need!!! I have no idea… they are clearly lacking all culinary manners *hmmmpf* 😀 xxx

OMG, Karen! It was so funny to hear about Geoffrey & Henry because my sister and I (Kaitlyn is 2.5 years younger than me) go by Amos and Jethro! She’s Amos and I’m Jethro and we talk in country bumpkin accents hahaha. It’ so funny in public! I can just imagine you and your sister talking like old British men hahaha 🙂

That is exactly us… I swear if people heard the convo’s they’d either crumple in fits of laughter or else have us sectioned! Most likely the latter lol Must be a sister thing Kaily 😉 haha XXXXXX
Ps: you’ve actually made my day with this lol X

That was so much fun to read!!!! 😀 I like that song too by Tay Swizzle. Enya has some relaxing tunes I must say. I sleep on the left too, twins, haha 🙂 maybe the talking doll was really Chucky! Ahhhh, that would be creepy. And yes, I can pass the wee pen over! I like that word! It’s “so fetch.” Hahaha I didn’t know you had your lip pierced. Unless you mentioned it before in a post and I forgot. I once saw a lady that had her nail pierced. Maybe your tongue is like a blow hole like a whale. Yayyyyyy for Cheetos!!! I’m glad I’ve got you hooked, muhahaha!! 🙂 💜xoxo

Haaaaaa – thankfully not Chucky huni, this one was way to cute and just wanted to sleep so he couldn’t ever be arsed to do anything lol Giving up with trying to hide the word “wee” just accepting it as part of my Irish DNA lol HAHAHAHAHA – blow hole… you’re a hoot Leah!!!!! XXXXXXX

Ha, this was such a fun post! I love that you and your sister call each other Geoffrey and Henry. I don’t know why that makes me laugh so much, but it does 😉 Also, yay for cranking Taylor Swift in the car! Anyone who says they don’t sing along to Blank Space is a liar, and that is a fact. It’s the best!!
