In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:
Tips, laughter, rambling, body confidence
What inspired you to start blogging?
I used to spend ages on YouTube and blogs (still do now lol) looking what other bloggers are up to. Apparently, my boyfriend had enough of me gushing over somebody’s new top they got from ASOS and told me to start my own blog. I was really embarrassed about it at first, my cheeks went red when my boyfriend read my first post so I asked him to read it when I am not there. He still leaves anonymous comments telling me to carry on. He is my biggest inspiration I suppose.
Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?
Since I am Lithuanian (living in UK) I was more confident writing in my native language, however, after a while I realised that it’s much easier to express myself when I write in English so I decided to start a new blog. I came up with skinny stalker name because body confidence is such a big issue nowadays. I experienced it myself and learnt to overcome all the barriers. Well, most of them. I am not gonna lie, there are some days when I look at celebrities, girls on the street and question myself. Why is it so easy for them but not for me? With my blog I want to show all the girls that being jealous about someone’s body shape/figure is normal. However, we need to learn to appreciate ourselves. I am on my learning journey and I wouldn’t mind to have a travel buddy, maybe few xxx
Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?
Believe it or not, I had my first Bloggers Block just when I started my blog. I was so into writing it, but had no clue what it should be about. I headed over to google (as you do haha) and I was overwhelmed with all the blog post ideas. However, I took few ideas and tried to get something out of it, but nothing seemed right. I figured out that the best post idea is to write what is going on in your life at that moment, or how you feel about something. It has to come from the heart to reach the heart.
What’s your favourite post to date?
It wouldn’t make any sense if I included the post I wrote in Lithuanian. It was about the holiday where me and my better half got engaged.
If I had to choose my favourite post from Skinny Stalker so far, I’d say it’s British Life. I am totally in love with Britain and it was really fun to make that list.
Describe your everyday clothes style:
Since I am working at school, I need to look smart. My go to clothing item is black dress. I have quite a few, different style dresses. I don’t like being all black and boring so I’ve got myself different pattern scarves as well. My most favourite one is pink with little love hearts on it 🙂 I also like to experiment with my nails. I always get something drawn on them and children seems to like it as well haha. My colleague recently overheard children talking about their favourite teacher and they said my name! Someone asked them why and they said because I am pretty! At least children like my style lol.
What are your current top 3 beauty items?
Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer (blogging happens at night you see haha)
Tresemme hair remedy masque because my hair became so frizzy at this weather
Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil. Another lovely blogger reviewed it on her blog so I had to have it ok? 😉 I am in love with it at the moment.
How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?
It might sound like a cliché but I love going to group workouts. Especially challenging ones. I am so into group kick right now. It’s about boxing and karate moves as well as some Pilates. Of course it seems hard to get to the gym after hard day but I feel so relaxed and ready for the next day after challenging workout 😉
Describe your ideal Saturday night:
Ideal Saturday would be when my partner doesn’t work. We go to bed earlier and catch up on Walking Dead series. Then we would talk about the week and our plans and just have time to listen to each other. I can’t believe how little time we have just to talk throughout the week!
What do you do to relax?
It definitely has to be making a cup of strong coffee (no sugar) and reading a book. I am so into Tanya’s Burr book at the minute!
Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?
I get excited really easily and get bored very quickly. I couldn’t count how many times I’ve started something and haven’t finished. Like knitting a scarf for my boyfriend. I started it in October, don’t even know where that piece of thread is now 😀
What’s your most cherished childhood memory?
Eating grandma’s pancakes. They were too salty but I loved them anyway.
What was your favourite school subject?
I was always into languages. My grades weren’t as good as I expected them to be, but I wanted to learn as many languages as I could. I also wanted to study English Philology.
What’s your dream job?
I have few dream jobs and I don’t know if they can be related. First, I really want to work with children and second, I want to have my own column in a magazine, like I have my blog. I’d like to write about being healthy, loving ourselves, I want to share tips and hacks about life. 😉
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself living in a new house with 2 children running around and me blogging my newly mom experience. I can see myself at the happiest I’ve ever been. 🙂
What top 5 things are on your bucket list?
1. Get married
2. Visit Bali
3. Get a new house
4. Road trip UK
5. Go to Tomorrow Land festival
What’s your biggest achievement to date?
I feel very proud of how far I’ve come career vice. I was only 18 when I first came to Britain. I thought I knew English well, oh boy I was wrong. You really do know how to get people confused when talking in different dialects. Anyway, I had to work really hard and spend dozens of night shifts in the factory so I could see them smiley little faces at work.
Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?
Not everyone has to like you. Not everyone has taste.
What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?
* I would suggest going on WordPress. It gives you so many possibilities. I regret starting with blogger, because all my subscribers are lost since I moved.
* Pictures are important. For me it’s better bad quality but yours, than taken from the internet.
* It’s ok to get inspiration from other bloggers, however don’t copy their post ideas just because they are popular on their page. You need to be passionate about it as well.
