*What’s in my jewellery box…

Whats in my jewellery box

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today’s post is a little different from my usual as the lovely folk over at Invaluable got in touch and asked if I’d like to do a bit of a fun collab on a rather glitzy topic…

If you aren’t familiar with Invaluable.com it’s a superb website containing listings of beautiful jewelery, art & collectibles (amongst many other fancy goodies). Do have a peek at some of the stunning items for sale, it really is a virtual treasure trove. If you fancy your luck placing a few bids you just may end up with a gorgeous glitzy keepsake of your very own to cherish!

.

So of course, all this scanning over radiant rocks and precious pearls has made me want to have a good rummage through my own little jewellery box. Here’s what I found…

Earrings

Okay, so my earring collection may not rival Her Majesties but I love it… collecting cutesy, quirky little earrings is just my thing. The cuter and (obviously) more owl like the better in my humble opinion!

Aren’t they a hoot? 😀 Yep, slightly obsessed with owls – have been for years but lately with a boom in owl jewellery they’re much easier to come across. These 3 pairs were all bought by Steve who loves nothing better *it would seem* to lavish his own bird with birds 😉

Onto the necklaces, now I must confess it’s not often I wear necklaces but every now and again I’ll dabble in a little neck decor… as expected, more owls… the gorgeous big one was a surprise from Hayley my step-daughter and the teeny turquoise one I spotted at a local craft stall and had to have him. A few of the others are costume jewellery I’ve picked up here and there however the little cross and angel on the end were a gift that was given to me a few years ago. My faith is an important part of my life and this is such a sentimental keepsake in it’s honour.

Up until a few years ago I was a huge bracelet hoarder… in fact I had to clear out an enormous amount of little trinket bracelets I’d collected over the years and had no room for. However now I’ve somewhat downsized I’m no longer struggling for choice. I’m a huge fan of silver so everything I buy is always in cool metallics. As for watches I’m one of those bizarre folk who cannot bear a watch on my wrist (even though I’ve hoarded a few rather pretty ones over the years) rather odd considering up until a few years ago I couldn’t have left the house without wearing one!

charms

This is by far one of the most sentimental pieces of jewellery I own. It’s an incredibly old charm bracelet that was handed down to me by my grandmother. Over the years family members have added to it by buying such intriguing and quirky little additions. I absolutely adore it in every sense, however it’s not something I’d wear for fear of loosing it but most definitely a treat to look at every now and again. See how the little keys spell out I-Love-You? Also, the tiny little girl on the swing actually moves!

So there you have it guys, a little peek into my humble jewellery box that’s filled with a selection of little trinkets that are certainly invaluable to me!

And if you’re on the hunt for something new to sparkle in, don’t forget to stop by Invaluable.com to check out the selection of gorgeous jewellery available to place your bids on now ladies 😉

Cheerio chums…

  1. Wow what a fab idea for a post! I love the charm bracelet – what a beautiful way to keep family history. I have trouble wearing necklaces for more than a couple of hours for some reason – they always get tangled in my hair. Bracelets are my weakness though lol. I will have to check out invaluable and see what they have, because I love love LOVE jewellery. xx

  2. My mum has always said if I go “missing” in a shop, I’ll be in the jewellery section and it’s true to this day. I absolutely adore little bits and pieces (nothing too expensive, but anything handmade has me sold!). I’d love to do a post like this – linking back to you of course! xx

    • Why thank you so much Dana I’m so glad you enjoyed it huni 🙂 Oh I get like that if I don’t pop them in the box right away – terrible trying to keep a match *sigh* I think that’s why I’m better with costume jewellery as that way if I do loose it, it usually doesn’t cost a fortune to replace!! Have a super weekend huni & thank you so much for stopping by ❤ XXXXX

Day is going great, after work we went trampoline shopping with Ems and she bought herself a 10ft one with pocket money she has saved, so Steve and I will be spending our day building that tomorrow *rolls eyes* lol however tonight I think I’m taking a bug – cold and exhausted… very peculiar! May just be over tired, I dont know!! Hopefully it will pass quickly 🙂
Hey, a day in pj’s is okay every once in a while so don’t put too much pressure on yourself if you need to take it slowly! ❤ Have a super day & weekend ahead lovely lady *huge hugs back at ya* XXXXX

      • Glad to hear that you’re having a great day 🙂 A trampoline sounds like so much fun! I remember jumping on those when I was a kid. I think I would hurt myself being my age now lol. Hopefully you get some rest soon and I hope you’re aren’t getting sick. Take it easy as much as you can. ❤
Yeah today is a pj's day. I couldn't go anywhere today because Ron took the automatic car that I can drive to work because he need the room to move some stuff for work. I can't drive the other car we have that has a stick shift. So it's stuck at home for me unfortunately. i think I will just catch up on some TV shows. Thank you so much Karen! XXXXX
P.S. I did take my shower! lol

    • Really Diana?! Haaa and here’s me thinking it was such a teeny one in comparison!! I must admit most of the items were bought for me as I’m not a huge jewellery shopper either but it’s nice to have a collection of pretty things to dress up in every once in a while 😀 Hope you have a lovely weekend huni & thank you so much for stopping by ❤ XXX
