Morning Blog Buddies…
Hope you’ve all had a super-awesome week and looking forward to the weekend as much as I am… that Friday feeling has well and truly kicked in already and it’s only 8am.
So, hot of the Confetti & Curves press this morning I have a fun filled TAG as nominated by the lovely Katie over at Plus+ Beauty… it’s The 15 (rather random) Questions Tag. If you haven’t visited Katie’s wonder-blog on all things beautiful then get yourself over & check it out. You’ll love it & her!
I actually had a review for you all this morning but seeing as it’s the weekend, why not let the hair down and have a little fun instead, right?! Are you sitting comfy? Then let’s begin…
1) What do you think you can do but can’t?
As disgracefully vain as it may sound, going a day without make-up is absolute torment for me. I usually try to remind myself ‘I’m not going anywhere, no make-up is required!!’ However I never feel fully functional and ready for the day ahead unless I have my foundation, mascara & a skimming of lippy on at the very least!
2) What’s a difficult word for you to pronounce?
Particularly – I sound like I have a mouth full of marbles every time I attempt to say it. It’s just one of those awkward blundering words that never rolls of my tongue with any hint of grace. Worse still, the more I try to rectify myself verbally the worse it gets… I’m completely over thinking it.
3) What are your favourite TV shows from your childhood?
Without a second thought: Button Moon, HE Man & Rainbow. I’ll even admit to having a bit of a crush on Zippy in my youngster years… I was clearly into the cheeky chappies 😉
(Ooh, what a puppet!)
4) What are your virtues and vices?
I’d say my biggest virtue is compassion for others. If I can help someone out I’ll do everything I can to go the extra mile and make it happen. On the other hand my biggest vice would be impatience… I don’t do waiting. At all. If something needs doing I prefer it done yesterday, otherwise I get seriously grumpy! *Grrrrr*
5) What’s more important: love, fame, power, or money?
Has anyone ever answered this question with anything other than ‘Love’?! Most definitely LOVE.
6) If you could live in any era/time period, when would it be and why?
Without a shadow of a doubt I’d be rockin’ round the clock in the 1950’s… the hairstyles, the clothes the huuuuuuge American cars. In my opinion women looked incredible. So beautifully feminine and classically curvy. Makes me wanna whip out a multi-layered petticoat, Grease soundtrack, pink lippy & hairspray! Amazing.
7) If you had to redo your entire wardrobe with 2 stores, what would they be and why?
Hmm, well being a plus size girl I’m pretty limited to choice here… however I am rather taken by the selection of threads available from Simply Be and ASOS. I’m sure I could do some retail damage given the chance and a cheque book 😉
8) Can you recall what you were doing a year ago on this day?
Huni, I can’t recall what I was doing yesterday let alone a year ago… given a guess I’d say the same as today: writing, writing and more writing.
9) Do you have reoccurring dreams? If so, explain?
A few years ago I had a horrid recurring dream that always involved me standing on a random shoreline as a huge Tsunami came rushing towards me from the horizon. I felt so small standing there just waiting on the wall of water to hit, I knew there was no point running from it – it was like facing death over and over again. However, at the time I was studying for a qualification in Counselling so I firmly believe it helped me face a few things that were completely overwhelming me in real life… once those ‘real life’ fears were put to rest my recurring dream stopped as quickly as it started.
10) What’s your horoscope?
Cancer… I’m a nippy little water lover who adores living beside the sea.
11) What does your dream bedroom look like?
Warm! I cannot abide cold, stark, minimalistic rooms – I will never feel warm and at ease in a bedroom that is decorated in cool tones. I’m all about soft fluffy carpets, heavy drapes, warm ivory walls with rich raspberry accents and a scattering of metallic mocha shades… now that would make my homely little heart flutter with delight. There’s nothing as inviting as a huge puffy bed with masses of pillows to sink down, a dressing table neatly arranged with my favourite lotions and potions, and of course an exquisite bedside table proudly displaying a fully charged kindle. Oh, and candles… as far as the eye could see. Sheer bliss.
12) What position do you sleep in?
In the most bizarre of shapes imaginable. I’ve always been a bit of an oddity when it comes to sleeping habits. Hmm, not even sure if I can describe my slumber-style but here goes:
On my tummy, one leg up and out of the duvet whilst hugging a pillow that’s doubled over – otherwise I literally feel like I’m slowly suffocating. *grasps neck of jumper at the mere thought*
Okay, I’m predicting you’re screwing your pretty little face up thinking ‘what a frickin weirdo’ –and you’d be right. Apologies for melting your mind with such a disturbing vision *face palm*
13) What are your all time favorite films?
I’m so relieved this is a plural question otherwise it would have been impossible… okay, get comfy for a weird mixture of tastes… GoodFella’s, SATC, The Notebook, Snatch, Working Girl, Pretty Woman, Forrest Gump, Dead Man Walking, Planes Trains & Automobiles, Philadelphia, 10 Things I Hate About You, You’ve Got Mail, The Passion, BIG, The Vow, The Aristocats, Despicable Me (had to have a few kiddies ones – they’re timeless)
Ps: The list goes on and on and on…
14) What makeup are you currently wearing?
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 HR Foundation
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
MUA Bronzer
Rimmel Pop of Pink Crème blush
Urban Decay Primer
Urband Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
W3 Naked Brow Shadow
Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm – Cherry
MUA Lippy – Barely There
15) Do you have neat handwriting? Show us!
If I really try it’s not too bad, however most of the time it looks like hieroglyphics.
Here it is in the flesh…
And if you want to read more about the post it’s relating to *click here* to check it out!

So there you have it lovelies, my 15 questions answered to the best of my ability – no lie detectors & all is above board. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoying answering the questions. Thanks so much again to the lovely Katie for including me! Now onto my nominees…

This is a fun tag! ❤ I totally agree with #1! It's so rare that I wake up feeling completely content with how my skin looks etc to go absolutely bare faced but those products you listed are my absolute essentials! 😀 And your handwriting is so so neat!

YES! That’s my outlook on it too Jen – I have such a blotchy complexion, just looks so tired if I don’t put something on to freshen it up. Don’t want to scare myself or anyone else lol Why thank you – 99% of the time it’s only readable to myself (not a bad thing really) haha Thanks for stopping by and have a super weekend huni Xo

Me too! 😦 My skin is really red and I feel really uncomfortable about it especially when the weather is really warm! I just look totally sunburnt. 😛 LOL noo you’re beautiful Karen, everyone will be admiring you! 🙂 🙂
HAHA really? I find it completely readable! 😀 ❤ You're welcome! Have an amazing weekend too! xx

Oh gosh that sounds horrid for you 😦 You’ve such a beautiful complexion though Jen, whatever products you’re using must be working wonders!! I get a similar issue in the summer here too, my skin tends to flare up in the heat (even though our summers are MUCH milder than yours) so I can only imagine how much of an issue the heat must be for you! My hubby grew up in Australia and his skin is still red with the effects of major hot summers and intense sun! I mustn’t grumble too much about the chilly Irish weather I guess lol
Awwwh thank you so much – you say the loveliest things Jen 🙂 Yes, thankfully my writing is okay in this pic but my notebook is another story – as are the many many post it notes on my wall lol Just looks like little symbols lol
Enjoy your Saturday, catch you soon huni, ❤ Xo xo

I know! 😦 I’m not entirely sure if I can get rid of it either but thank you so much! I so rarely hear I have a nice complexion so I’m completely flattered! 🙂 🙂 Yes, I’m really thankful that my skin has improved so much after switching to my current skincare routine! That’s amazing, I didn’t know your hubby grew up here! 😀 I feel like it’s definitely quite common though for our skin to get red in the heat, especially in our climate! Haha is it chilly there all year around? :O
You’re welcome Karen, I really mean it! 😀 😀 Haha my writing seems to change a lot from the beginning of a notebook towards the end. :O
Enjoy your day too! ❤ ❤ Hope you have a splendid day! xx

Your comment made me smile so much Jen 🙂 Firstly… you absolutely have a great complexion, I think you’ve done so well coping with such an awkward reaction to the heat. Clearly your new skincare routine is working out so well!!! Keep at it ❤
My hubby (Steve) was born in Wales, UK but moved out to Australia & lived in Melbourne, Adelaide, Kambalda (& Perth for a very short while) He absolutely loved it, and still has family out there however the heat reeeeeally was a struggle esp coming from a cooler climate! lol I guess it would be very chilly all year round here in N. Ireland for you Jen, it can be as low as -2 in the winter and can reach 27oC in the summer (which to us is boiling lol) I quite like the definitive seasons, but the winter gets tiring somedays – looking forward to packing away my winter woollies that's for sure 😀
Yes, my notebooks are the same – start of with great intentions to be neat and tidy etc but ends up in scrawls/scribbles *tut tut* Will try my best to make the most of the rest of the weekend indeed… same to you too!! Great chatting with you huni 🙂 XXX

Aw! 😀 😀 I’m so happy to hear that! Your comments always make me smile! 🙂 Thank you so much! I will! I’ve realised how important skincare is so I’ve definitely been taking my time to look after my skin properly! ❤
Wow he is so lucky to have visited so many places! I'm sure it must have been so difficult to adjust especially since it gets really humid here too! Wow -2 sounds so cold! It never gets below 10 degrees here and we never experience snow either! Traveling overseas while its winter in the Northern Hemisphere is such a struggle for me! 😛 Yay it's going to warm where you live really soon! 🙂 🙂
Haha totally! We always have that goal to keep our notebooks super tidy but then it somehow falls through somewhere along the line. 😛 It's always hilarious to flip through and see where everyone's writing randomly changes! Great chatting with you too as always! xx

Love your answers! I love that Goodfellas is one of your favorite movies, that movie was filmed where I grew up. lol Planes Trains & Automobiles is a huge favorite of mine, we watch it almost all the time, it’s such a funny movie.

Hey chummy!!!! Oooooh was it reeeeeeally?!?! You lucky gal!!! Love that movie soooo much – Ray Liotta is just incredible! Oh & of course Steve Martin/John Candy – what a collab of comedy geniuses eh?! We watch it all the time too – never ever gets old 😉 X

When I use to live back at my mom’s and I needed to catch the train I always choose to walk past one of the homes used in the movie. 🙂 There’s also a house not to far from my mom’s apartment that was used in one of the Godfather movies. The city I grew up in is very Italian and also very Irish. So basically if you weren’t Italian you were Irish decent. lol Yes, Martin & Candy are/were a great comedy duo. “May I see your rental agreement?” Probably one my fav parts in the movie. 😀

Oooh it sounds so darn authentic – I’m picturing Sopranos, God Father, Casino type characters hehe Brill 😀 Oooh that was a corker of a question.. I think I’ll watch it tonight AGAIN! Xo

Well to be honest everyone who lives back in my hometown acts like there out of a mobster movie. It can be sort of ridiculous but this New Yorker misses it from time to time. 🙂 You should watch one of those movies tonight! I love the show Sopranos, I own every season!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I’m afraid I’d be in my element in that neighbourhood Jen lol Not that I want to glamorise being a mobster of course hahaha Funnily it was my dad who first told me about The Sopranos – he got me into it and low & behold I’ve been hooked. Lucky you… I really neeeeed to get the box set 😉 xo

This was so much fun to read! I totally agree with you on the no-makeup issue: just a swipe of tinted moisturiser, mascara and lippy = no makeup, right?! I even wear it to the gym (i know, I know but otherwise I look like a tomato).
Thanks for the nomination love, must think hard about my answers 🙂
