  1. Great post Karen! I enjoy reading them when I am up late and unable to sleep. Its just after midnight here. I don’t really have anything good that I’m reading right now and I never would have thought to read a beauty book. I think I should give one a try. I usually like reading books on real people’s lives and their experiences. Though I haven’t read a book in a long time, just mostly magazine articles and blogs.lol. 🙂 xxxx

    • Thank you huni – it would’ve been 8:30am here when you posted! 😀 I know exactly what you mean Katie – I would never think to buy a Beauty book either but they’re actually really interesting – you learn some amazing stuff!! Another thing I like to do is listen to pod casts – the sound of someone talking always helps when I’m trying to get over 🙂 Oh I love reading real peoples lives – I’ve just finished an amazing life story, it was so so sad in parts – I’m such an emotional reader lol! Thanks for your lovely comment – and talking of great things to read I can’t wait for Behind The Blog tomorrow 😉 Super excited hehe XXX

      • You’re welcome Karen – I did finally fall asleep last night close to 2 am lol. I think I just need to turn my mind off somehow. I will have to look up some beauty books then. I love reading and I just really need to find something that I just want to keep reading and not put down. I feel like it’s been too long since I have picked up and read a good book. My Mom gave me her library card number so that I can go online and use it to read e-books which I think is so neat! I read tons of blog posts everyday it seems, I just love them! lol. I almost forgot that my Behind the Blog was tomorrow! Yay! I am super excited too!! 😀 XXX

  8. I’ve done tons of research, but I’ve never actually read a beauty book. I’ve heard some good things about Brown’s manual and I think I’m going to pick it up when I have more free time (and less textbook readings). Great list Karen, thank you!

    • Beauty books are relatively new to me too Romy, but I must admit they’re a nice change and have some great tips too 🙂 Any beauty reads I would’ve normally stuck to mags or blogs/You Tube but surprising how informative they are – and always good to reference too hence why I much prefer the paper/hardback as opposed to kindle version!! 😀 Def try and get hold of Browns manual huni – great read 🙂 X

      • You’re right about the nice change. I prefer non-fiction books, but beauty is also non-fiction, so I should venture out. Thank you for always giving me good ideas Karen! 😉 I also prefer paper, I’ve never read a book on a kindle and i don’t plan on to lol

      • No problem huni – hopefully you’ll enjoy your reads!! Yes, I love paper too. There is nothing quite like the smell of a book – it’s amazing… can’t get that on Kindle eh!? lol X
